This is a full-time, onsite position, for individuals that can work in a high heat/high humidity work environment. As a Heat Treat Operator, an employee will be trained to set up, operate and tend to heat treat equipment and processes. Job functions that will be trained are as follows: Determining the temperature and time of heating cycles to obtain specific Rockwell hardness. Monitoring the furnace and tempering ovens Preparing and loading baskets Monitoring controls and amperage for furnace and temper ovens to control temperature and time settings Monitor the nitrogen generator and meters accordingly to maintain production quality and flow Miscellaneous tasks as they relate to the overall duties of a Heat Treat Operator Will be required to use any and all cut-off saws for sample cutting Operating Rockwell testers to determine the specific hardness of raw material Straightening heat-treated materials using straightening press, anvils, hammers and straightening plates Will be required to dismantle and repair furnace and tempering ovens Quality control inspection of production parts Performs basic data entry for job tracking purposes Vermont Precision Tools, Inc. manufactures tooling that is used to produce products to serve the medical, aerospace, automotive, defense, and many other markets. This position is a 2nd shift position, Monday through Friday, from 2:30pm to 11:00pm. The training schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, from 7:00am - 3:30pm
