Travel may involve using your personal or a rental vehicle. Rental vehicle requires you to be 21 years or older, under 21 will have to furnish their own transportation. Wire Down Guards/ Wire down watchers will be placed on a storm roster and contacted when weather-related events occur. Job assignments may last from one day to several weeks, depending on the extent of damage.\n\nWire down Guard/ Wire Down watcher Job Duties:\n\n- Respond to alerts, and travel to link up sites only when given the word to proceed prior to reporting for work.\n\n- Report to your Team Lead and or Storm Manager when you arrive on site, and if you are sent out on a ticket to watch down lines. Ensure you give them the ticket number, address, and time you leave, arrive on site.\n\n- Document and report findings in the format designated by the client.\n\n- Ensure safety at all times, for yourself, your team, and others in the field.\n\n- Communicate effectively and professionally.\n\nJob Requirements:\n\n- Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures. Stay awake, and in the required personal protective gear. IE Hard Hat, work boots, reflective vest.\n\n- Willingness to respond promptly to assignments, including short-notice requests.\n\n- Valid driver's license with no time or state-based restrictions.\n\n- Personal vehicle in presentable condition with full insurance coverage, or ability to maintain cleanliness and fuel receipts for rental vehicles.\n\nSkills Requirements for Wire down guard/ Wire down watcher:\n\n- High school diploma or GED.\n\n- Ability to use technology and adapt to new systems or platforms, as required by the utility.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\n\n- Ability to stand or walk for long periods and distances.\n\n- Capacity to handle stressful situations and long hours.\n\n- Ability to follow instructions or guidance as given.\n\nBenefits: Competitive pay, personal vehicle and expense reimbursement, referral program.
