This role requires strong expertise in production support, system diagnostics, RACF security, SMP/E installations, Web Services, and enterprise mainframe environments.\nKey ResponsibilitiesCICS & MQ Administration\nManage, administer, and support IBM Mainframe CICS and MQ subsystems in enterprise production environments.\nInstall, maintain, configure, and upgrade CICS Transaction Server, MQSeries, and related ISV products (e.g., BMC MainView).\nCreate, configure, and manage CICS regions and CICSplex (CPSM) environments for workload balancing and high availability.\nMonitor CICS regions using enterprise monitoring tools such as Omegamon and MainView.\nSystem Maintenance & Configuration\nPerform installation and maintenance activities using SMP/E for CICS and associated products.\nConfigure System Initialization Table (SIT) parameters and perform ongoing system maintenance.\nCreate and maintain all required CICS resources using RDO (Resource Definition Online), including:\nTransactions\nPrograms\nFiles\nTransient Data Queues\nLSR Groups\nOther required CICS resources\nPerformance Monitoring & Optimization\nAnalyze CICS system performance and optimize resource utilization.\nTune system parameters to improve application performance and scalability.\nProduce, analyze, and interpret CICS shutdown statistics to support problem determination and capacity planning.\nCreate and modify CICS reports and performance metrics, including:\nCPU consumption\nStorage consumption\nTransaction volume\nResponse times\nWait times\nUnderstand CICS dynamic storage areas and manipulate storage to resolve short-on-storage situations and support future application growth.\nTroubleshooting & Production Support\nProvide 24x7 production support for CICS and MQ environments.\nPerform dump analysis, FDC analysis, and root cause analysis for production issues.\nDiagnose and resolve:\nCICS abends\nTransaction freezes\nPerformance issues\nSystem failures\nCreate both transaction dumps and system dumps and transfer them to vendors for further analysis.\nSet Auxiliary and GTF traces to assist IBM and vendors with problem determination.\nDemonstrate strong problem determination skills with the ability to diagnose issues, identify root causes, and implement remediation solutions.\nIntegration & Web Services\nSupport integration across:\nCICS\nIMS\nDB2\nMQ\nWeb Services\nCreate and support Web Services within CICS environments.\nDemonstrate understanding of CICS MRO environments, including TOR and AOR configurations.\nSecurity Administration\nInstall and maintain RACF security for CICS and associated products.\nCreate and maintain RACF security rules related to CICS resources.\nManage CICS security requirements and maintain RACF security across all CICS resources.\nSMF & System Analysis\nGather and manipulate SMF data, including CICS 110 records.\nUtilize SMF data for performance analysis, reporting, and operational troubleshooting.\nVendor Support\nWork with IBM and other software vendors by:\nOpening problem cases\nPreparing technical documentation\nSending dumps for analysis\nFollowing up on support requests\nCollaborating during issue resolution\nLeadership & Collaboration\nProvide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to junior team members.\nDemonstrate strong communication, documentation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.\nWork independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.\nRequired Experience\n8+ years of experience managing Mainframe CICS and MQ subsystems.\nExperience with CICS Transaction Server, MQSeries, and related ISV products (e.g., BMC MainView).\nStrong expertise in CICS Region Management, CICSplex (CPSM), and enterprise monitoring tools such as Omegamon/MainView.\nHands-on experience with SMP/E installation and maintenance.\nStrong knowledge of RACF security administration for CICS.\nExperience with SMF data collection and manipulation (e.g., CICS 110 records).\nExperience with dump analysis, FDC analysis, trace analysis, and production issue resolution.\nExperience supporting Web Services within CICS.\nStrong understanding of CICS MRO environments (TOR/AOR).\nExperience creating and maintaining CICS resources using RDO.\nExcellent communication, mentoring, and documentation skills.\nPay: $60.00 -
