The role involves planning and executing site investigations, interpreting field and laboratory data, performing foundation and slope stability design, preparing clear geotechnical reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with project teams, supervise site works, and apply numerical and analytical methods to deliver safe, economical and constructible geotechnical solutions.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nPlan, coordinate and execute geotechnical site investigations including borehole logging, soil sampling, in-situ testing (SPT, CPT), and field permeability tests.\nSupervise and participate in laboratory soil testing (classification, consolidation, permeability, shear strength, etc.) and ensure QA/QC of geotechnical data.\nInterpret subsurface data and develop geotechnical models to inform design and construction decisions.\nPerform foundation design for shallow and deep foundations, including bearing capacity, settlement analysis, pile design and pile testing plans.\nConduct slope stability, landslide risk assessments, liquefaction analyses and retaining wall design using limit equilibrium and numerical methods.\nDevelop and implement ground improvement and soil stabilization solutions and evaluate applicability of geosynthetics (geotextiles, geogrids).\nPrepare clear, concise geotechnical reports, design calculations, geotechnical recommendations and specifications in compliance with ASTM, Eurocode, AASHTO and BS standards.\nProvide geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring plans, install/interpret instrumentation data and deliver construction monitoring and site supervision during earthworks and foundation works.\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent; MSc in Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline preferred.\n3+ years of practical geotechnical engineering experience (or 5+ years for senior roles) with demonstrated field and office capabilities.\nHands-on experience with soil mechanics, geotechnical site investigations, borehole logging, soil sampling, SPT and CPT testing.\nProven experience in foundation design (shallow and deep), pile design and pile testing, bearing capacity and settlement analysis.\nExperience in slope stability analysis, landslide risk assessment, liquefaction analysis and retaining wall design.\nFamiliarity with laboratory soil testing (consolidation, permeability, shear tests) and interpretation of results.\nProficiency with geotechnical and numerical modelling software such as PLAXIS, FLAC, GEO5, GeoStudio (SLOPE/W, Seep/W), LPILE and AutoCAD/CAD.\nExperience with ground improvement techniques, soil stabilization and design/use of geosynthetics (geotextiles, geogrids).\nKnowledge of dewatering, seepage analysis, groundwater flow modelling and geotechnical instrumentation & monitoring.\nStrong technical writing skills for geotechnical report writing and ability to produce clear design calculations and recommendations.\nProfessional registration or chartership (PE, CEng, or equivalent) is desirable\n- For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
