Position: Digital Content Creator Status: Full Time Hours: Mon – Fri 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (hours may vary) Reports to: Community Engagement Director Pay Range: $70,622 to $100,517 annualize The Digital Content Creator is responsible for the end-to-end creation of content to support the Village’s marketing plan and shape the Village’s identity. This includes the development of clear and compelling assets via graphic design, photography (both traditional and via drone), and videography. Assist with the Village’s communications efforts with content creation that supports programs and services across all departments. Assist in maintaining the Village’s websites. Major Duties and Responsibilities Create visually-driven, design-forward content from concept through final delivery that tells the Village’s story and enhances the Village’s brand(s), including the Village of New Lenox, KidsWork Children’s Museum, and Crossroads Sports Complex. Design campaign assets, social media images, website images, print materials (brochures, fliers, rack cards, postcards, etc.), presentations, infographics, New Lenox Community Television graphics, and other graphic design assets as needed across all departments. Develop, shoot, and edit both short- and long-form high-quality video content for advertisements, social media outlets, podcasts, e-newsletters, and other Village communications efforts. Capture and edit professional photos to support marketing and communications efforts. Maintain an organized library of digital assets for Village use. Research current trends in digital content, graphic design, and video production to enhance engagement. Provide video coverage of Village meetings and events as requested. Work in conjunction with NLCTV Coordinator to provide content for the government cable access channel and serve as a point of contact for NLCTV Coordinator for equipment and technical needs. Performs preventive maintenance, trouble shooting, and minor repairs on equipment. Maintain an FAA Part 107 license for drone operation. Perform any flights as requested by departments. Assist in coordinating the Village’s websites by supporting departments with updates as needed and ensuring all posted content is accurate and accessible. Assist in development of department budget. Perform other duties as assigned. Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Suite, Canva, and Mac OS, and/or experience with similar programs. Knowledge of design principles, color theory, typography, and creative storytelling. Knowledge of website content management systems (experience with CivicPlus is favorable). Proven experience in video and audio communications, and the ability to operate and troubleshoot A/V equipment. Interpersonal skills to communicate cross-functionally across all departments. A self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to develop new ideas and present ideas in a clear, logical, and creative manner. Desired Education and/or Work Experience Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Production, Communications, Journalism, or related field and a minimum of two years’ experience. Equivalent experience/education will be considered. Possession of a valid Illinois Driver’s License. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements In addition to working in a normal office-type environment, time is spent outside exposed to temperature extremes, dirt, noise, etc. Schedule will vary due to variable hours of work required due to covering Village events, which frequently occur in the evenings or on weekends. Occasionally must lift and carry objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds; standing or sitting for long periods of time. The Village of New Lenox is an equal opportunity employer.
