Testing is performed to provide on-site, telephone, or electronic supportIs responsible for providing day-to-day supervision of high complexity test performance by qualified testing personnelMust be on-site to provide direct supervision when high complexity testing is performed by certain individualsMonitors test analyses and specimen examination to ensure that acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintainedFulfills certain responsibilities as delegated by the Lab Director and/or Technical Supervisor. These may include:Resolving technical problems and ensuring corrective actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratorys established performance specificationsEnsuring patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is functioning properlyProviding orientation to all testing personnelAnnually evaluates and documents the performance of all testing personnelRequired Qualifications:The laboratory must have one or more general supervisors who, under the direction of the laboratory director and the technical supervisor, provide day-to-day supervision of testing personnel and the reporting of test results. In the absence of the director and technical supervisor, the general supervisor must be responsible for the proper performance of all laboratory procedures and reporting of test results.Qualified as Testing Personnel for high complexity testing AND at least 2 years of lab training or experience in high complexity testingPreviously qualified as General Supervisor on or before 02/28/1992Prior to 09/01/1992, served as General Supervisor of high complexity testing, AND prior to 04/24/1995 completed military Medical Lab Specialist (50-week course), AND had at least 2 years lab training or experience in high complexity testing, OR graduated from an HHS-approved lab training program AND had at least 2 years lab training or experience in high complexity testingPrior to 09/01/1992, served as General Supervisor of high complexity testing, AND have high school diploma or equivalent, and more than 10years experience from 09/01/1982 to 09/01/1992Prior to 09/01/1992, served as General Supervisor of high complexity testing, and prior to 01/01/1994: passed an HHS-approved technical proficiency exam given between 03/01/1986 and 12/31/1987, and have 6 years of lab training or experience with 2 years in high complexity testing specialtiesKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:An energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional imageKnowledgeable of academic medical settings and a proven track record of successfully working in such settingsA strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgement, and strong operational focusAn intelligent, articulate team player who can relate to people at all levels of the organization and who possesses excellent communication skillsAn effective educator who is willing to share information and serve as a mentorAn excellent negotiator who is experienced in contract development and managementAbility to read, analyze, and interpret all laboratory documents of all complexitiesAbility to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries and complaintsAbility to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to the Board or other StakeholdersAdvanced math and reasoning ability to understand laboratory proceduresThe pay range for this role is:80,000 - 100,000 USD per year(usa)Compensation details: 80000-100000 Yearly SalaryPIadcfb3fc8dcb-26289-40390627
