The individual will be responsible for all aspects of planning and executing projects from ideation to project closure. The scope includes leading and/or supporting large capital projects in electrical, controls, Factory IT, physical automation, and Digital Plant Technology systems, depending on business needs. The role owns overall leadership of controls, automation, and digital projects via the Mars Wrigley Engineering Execution Standard. The role is based out of Gainesville, GA (GNV), Yorkville, IL (YRV), or Elizabethtown, PA (ELZ).\n\nWhat are we looking for?\nMinimum Requirements\n\nA bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical or a relevant engineering discipline.\n\n5-7 years of experience in a comparable technical position in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical or related industry.\n\nBasic understanding of engineering principles and knowledge of disciplines such as Process, Packaging, Electrical, Controls, Automation, Construction and/or Computer Services.\n\nIn-depth understanding of a designated functional engineering area of expertise (e.g., controls, process, packaging).\n\nUp to 50% travel depending on project demands.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nA degree in Controls/Electrical/Electronics or related fields, including courses in Computer Science or an advanced degree in Engineering.\n\nMBA or PMP certification.\n\n8+ years of experience in a comparable technical position in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical or related industry.\n\nExperience in food, beverage, pharmaceutical or related industry.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDevelop control systems for automating manufacturing processes and packaging systems.\n\nDeliver projects that provide a competitive advantage to the business.\n\nDesign control systems, including developing control concepts, functional and equipment specifications.\n\nDirect modifications, installation, and integration of systems in electrical and power distribution, control systems, Factory IT, physical automation, and Digital Plant Technology areas.\n\nEnsure delivery of assigned objectives for scope, time, budget, and cash flow.\n\nMaintain project adherence to scope, deliverables, and critical success factors.\n\nCommunicate with the project steering team to ensure project objectives are met.\n\nSeek and apply appropriate technologies to maintain a technical competitive advantage.\n\nMake decisions to improve business metrics such as ROTA, FATR, and Economic Profit.\n\nDesign systems and select hardware, directing third‑party engineering and system integration firms; provide design services to meet contract deliverables.\n\nParticipate in the development of engineering standards and tools.\n\nSupport safety, security, and environmental policies.\n\nMaximize asset utilization through value‑added engineering and lean design.\n\nManage all assigned project work directly.\n\nSupport the Five Principles, Vision to Win, and the Winning Environment.\n\nPlan and lead project activities in a cross‑functional team environment.\n\nContribute to the growth and effectiveness of the Regional Controls, Automation, and Digital Team through initiatives and action planning.\n\nWhat can you expect from Mars?\n\nWork with diverse and talented associates guided by the Five Principles.\n\nJoin a purpose‑driven company committed to building the world we want tomorrow, today.\n\nBest‑in‑class learning and development support from day one, including access to Mars University.\n\nAn industry‑competitive salary and benefits package, including a company bonus.\n\nBase pay range: USD 108,160.00 - USD 148,720.00.
