Triage Registered Nurse - OB/GYN (Full Time)
OakLeaf Clinics - OB/GYN has an exciting opportunity to join our expanding team as a full-time RN. We are seeking an RN dedicated to women's health with strong nurse triage skills.OakLeaf Clinics is dedicated to providing our patients with compassion, trust, and a lifetime of individualized care. Our healthcare team consists of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, dietitians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and medical assistants working in concert with laboratory/imaging services to offer individualized care to the Chippewa Valley.Position descriptionDuties include rooming patients, taking vital signs, completing medication reconciliation, administering medications, including injections, scheduling appointments, completing required prior authorization paperwork, assisting providers with their day-to-day clinical practice, and completing other duties.ResponsibilitiesAssess the patient's needs to make appropriate and independent/collaborative decisions for selecting a specific triage planUse departmental evidence-based protocols to triage patientsInstruct patients on their healthcareDocument all interactions with patients and providers when medical direction is givenCoordinate services with other departments for follow-up based on the patient's needsCommunicate problems, concerns, and suggestions to lead nurses or the clinic managerMaintain up-to-date knowledge and skills in professional and clinical areasProvide professional nursing care under supervision or within the scope of licensure for clinic patientsFacilitate/perform the gathering of patient information and document accordinglySchedule follow-up appointmentsInstruct patients and families by phone as directed within the scope of licensure or certificationScreen patients for appropriate informationMaintain a timely flow of patients and complete forms as neededAssist with office procedures as directedParticipate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliationsMaintain patient confidentialityQualificationsGraduate of an accredited school of nursingCurrent State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Nurse Compact LicenseBasic Life Support (BLS) certificationMedical terminology knowledge and understanding of patient care notesAbility to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills to complete documentation for medical record purposesExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsDetail-oriented and accuratePassionate about providing patient-focused careAbility to multitask with attention to detailPrior Epic experience preferredWork environmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a clinic setting.Physical demandsThe physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
