Assist in execution plan development. Trips home and a company truck will be provided; when applicable. Able to identify material needs, personnel needs and testing required for safe and quality installation.\n\nInterface with Construction Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer, Client Representatives, and Subcontractors to ensure all company, client, and project policies and procedures are adhered to.\n\nInterface with Construction Manager, General Superintendent, and Project Engineer as necessary to review constructability of design with the goal of meeting safety, quality, cost and schedule commitments.\n\nInterface with all project team members as required in the establishment of project schedules and resolving schedule problems as well as insuring successful quality, safety, budget, and performance.\n\nRepresent company and project team during bid process, project scope development, client meetings and project management meetings.\n\nWork within precise limits and standards of accuracy.\n\nParticipate with Construction Manager/General Superintendent in following construction flow, schedule, manning of personnel, equipment needs and budgets as well as safety and quality goals.\n\nAble to fill out work progress updates on site scheduled timeframe.\n\nAble to forecast equipment, material or personnel needs and fill out requisitions before items/people are needed on site.\n\nCommunicate well with other superintendents and site management about needs, obstacles, concerns or issues on the job site.\n\nJob Description:\n\nStructural/Rigging Superintendent Rev.0, 6-3-21 Page 2 of 2\n\nWork within company policy as outlined in the Samuel EPC Exempt Employee Handbook, compliant with the Samuel EPC Human Resources Policy Manual, and with the Samuel EPC Safety Manual and OSHA Safety regulations.\n\nFollow oral and written directions and perform other duties as assigned by the Construction Manager, General Superintendent, and Project Engineer as needed.\n\nEssential Qualifications\n\nMinimum of seven (7) years of formal training and experience in heavy industrial projects such as refineries, petro-chemical complexes, power plants, etc.\n\nRigging certifications from recognized organization(s) and hands on rigging experience.\n\nFamiliar with construction methods, techniques, and labor requirements and how they apply to industrial construction projects.\n\nAbility to effectively interact with project team members, craft employees, clients, and subcontractors.\n\nPossess excellent leadership skills and have the ability to effectively manage craft employees, budgets, and construction schedules.\n\nPreferred knowledgeable of current construction technology such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Word, Excel and PDF modification programs such as Bluebeam or Adobe.\n\nPrefer to be capable of obtaining applicable state construction licenses if required.\n\nMust have had previous hands-on job experience above foreman level.\n\nPhysical Requirements\n\nStand or walk for long periods of time\n\nUse arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects\n\nLift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance\n\nClimb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects while carrying tools and equipment\n\nStoop, kneel, crouch and crawl\n\nSee well (naturally or with correction)\n\nEye-hand coordination\n\nGood physical fitness\n\nGood sense of balance\n\nWork at great heights\n\nEnvironment: Works out of a field office at the construction site, monitors respective craft phases of the construction project, may travel when not assigned to a construction site, usually entails temporary residence away from primary residence. Expected to deal with delays, the effects of bad weather, or emergencies at the site.
