Pre-Suit Attorney

About The RoleAs an Associate Attorney in our growing Pre Litigation Time-Limited Demand group, you will handle fast-moving pre-suit settlements at scale, focusing on time-limited demands, proactive tenders, and global settlements. Instead of juggling depositions and trial prep, you’ll analyze cases, assess risk, and craft strategic demand responses—playing a direct role in protecting clients while keeping cases moving. You will have the best of both worlds: the ability to practice law, negotiate settlements, and make real decisions that impact high-value claims—without having to set foot in a courtroom. You will also assist clients in proactive settlements, working on global resolution of cases, assisting with minor settlements and advising clients on risk.ResponsibilitiesReview, analyze, and triage incoming settlement demands, meeting due dates and material terms, under OCGA 9-11-67.1Conduct legal research to ensure compliance with statutory updates and evolving case law interpretationsDraft and send timely demand responses, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standardsCommunicate with insurance adjusters and claimants' counsel, providing guidance and addressing settlement-related questionsMonitor and track deadlines, ensuring all responses, follow-ups, and approvals are handled in a timely mannerFollow up on outstanding releases and settlement documentation to facilitate case closureEffectively utilize support staff to ensure tasks are completed efficientlyAdapt to new policies, procedures, and workflow changes necessitated by firm growthRemain abreast of legislative updates and evolving case law interpretations, ensuring compliance with OCGA 9-11-67.1 and other relevant legal standardsTake on additional responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility in a high-growth, rapidly evolving environmentQualificationsActive license to practice law in Georgia1+ years of experience in insurance defense, claims handling, or civil litigation, with exposure to pre-suit settlements preferredFamiliarity with OCGA 9-11-67.1 or ability to quickly develop expertiseStrong analytical skills, with the ability to assess risk and evaluate settlement demands effectivelyImpeccable detail orientation, organizational skills, and communication skillsAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing processes and proceduresWho We AreGroth, Makarenko, Kaiser & Eidex is a premier civil defense firm in the Southeast building the future of insurance defense to ensure the best outcome for every carrier and every insured, in every case.Our values – sincerely diligent, honorably competitive, accountable, client serving, and united in collaboration – shape the way we approach each case and every relationship, acting as our guiding light in all that we do.
