Solid Power is a dynamic, fast‐paced, collaborative, and innovative team environment. The preferred candidate is currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies focused on engineering, chemistry, or related fields.\n\nJob Duties:\n\nWork closely with and under the direction of Scientists and Engineers to execute planned experimentation in the lab and on pilot production equipment.\nSupport cell design & process development efforts throughout the product development cycle with a specific focus on polymer characterization and optimization.\nUtilize analytical instruments including (but not limited to) DSC, Rheometers, DMA, and FTIR.\nRun mechanical testing such as peel adhesion and mandrel bend.\nCommunicate results and make recommendations for future experimentation or formulation improvements for our electrolyte and conductive slurry recipes.\nSupport lab experimentation through data collection, data analysis, diligent maintenance of records, and accurate reporting of data\nFollow facility and laboratory safety rules and regulations at all times.\n\n Qualifications/ Requirements:\n\nExperience in material characterization techniques including rheology, EIS, SEM/EDS, DSC/TGA, and particle size analysis is a plus.\nComfort with safe handling of hazardous materials and equipment is required.\nFoundation in statistical design (D.O.E.) with relevant software experience.\nKnowledge of Li-ion battery cell operation, performance, and failure modes preferred.\nExperience in testing and validation of Lithium ion/Lithium battery rechargeable cells preferred.\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Office suite.\n\n Physical Requirements:\n\nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk.\nMay need to lift to 50 pounds on occasion.\n\nHourly Compensation: $25/hour\n\nSchedule: 15-20 hours per week during fall semester\n\nApplication Deadline: This role will be posted until a suitable candidate has been identified\n\nExport Control Requirements:\n\nThis position requires access to technology, software, and other information that is subject to governmental access control restrictions, due to export controls.
