Rome NY office has an immediate need to fill a Software Developer position working on state-of-the-art research and development projects. The successful candidate will join a team of researchers and software developers to implement advanced data analysis algorithms and technologies. As a member of the program team, the successful candidate will perform software system architecture, integration, design, implementation, and testing under the direction of a Principal Engineer or Investigator. The successful candidate may lead small groups of engineers in implementation of specific functionality. In addition to software development, responsibilities will include system documentation and presentation preparation.\nRequirements:\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nA Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related discipline with significant coursework in computer programming or software architecture.\n2+ years relevant experience in software development efforts.\nAssociates degree plus 4 years of relevant experience in software development may be substituted for minimum education/experience requirements.\nDemonstrated ability to investigate, resolve and track complex software interactions and problems.\nDemonstrated ability to implement software and system requirements.\nKnowledge of systems/software development life cycles, CM processes, and agile development practices.\nFamiliarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.\nSpecial Requirements:\nContinued employment will require that the successful candidate obtain and continuously maintain a US Department of Defense security clearance.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nFamiliarity with distributed computing systems and/or real-time computing/messaging systems.\nExperience with System/Software Integration and Test activities.\nAbility to work at a government facility within a multi-contractor team environment.\nStrong verbal/written communication skills.\nExperience with high-level coding languages and scripting/interpreted languages, such as Java, C, Python, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS.\nExperience with Hadoop and Kubernetes.\nFamiliarity with Agile software development processes and tools (to include JIRA and Gitlab).\nExperience in complex system assessment/analysis; with exceptional attention to detail.\nKnowledge of system architectures, networks, and operations.\nWhy CUBRC\n401(k) – No Waiting Period. 100% Vested on date of hire.\n3% company contribution in the first year of employment, company contribution increases over time.
