Secondary CTE Teacher JobID: 833Position Type:High School Teaching/Industrial-Technology EducationDate Posted:5/8/2026Location:Coupeville High SchoolDate Available:09/01/2026Closing Date:Open until filledAdditional Information: Show/HideCoupeville School DistrictJob Description forCTE TEACHERWashington State CTE Certificate - REQUIREDDepartment: Coupeville Middle & High SchoolSupervisor: PrincipalAssociation: Coupeville Education AssociationFULL TIME - .6 up to 1.0 FTE (Continuing; dependent upon enrollment)PAY RANGE: Commensurate with experience and 2026-2027 CEA Salary ScheduleThe job description is subject to change by the employer as the needs of the employer and requirements of the job change.NOTE: Current CSD Substitutes who hold a CTE Certificate must wait and apply as an External applicantGeneral Responsibilities: Each teacher assumes responsibility for the education of students assigned to them in accordance with the district Mission Statement.Specific Responsibilities and Duties:The teacher:plan, implement, and evaluate courses, classroom instruction, and activity programs consistent with building, tech prep articulation, and adopted district curriculum;manage all additional requirements of a CTE program;Work in collaboration with CTE Director and School Administration.diagnose and prescribe learning and training programs for individual students;understanding of and ability to use various equipment and technology in a lab setting is preferred including troubleshooting skills;provide opportunities for student leadership and work with community advisory committee to further develop the program;possess knowledge of equipment usage and maintenance;follows safe work practices and procedures and ensure safe and proper use of equipment at all times;directs the learning experience of each student through instructional processes tailored to student needs;uses appropriate assessment procedures to evaluate the degree to which each student masters the learning objectives established by the board;maintains records and/or prepares daily reports of student attendance, initiates discipline report procedures as appropriate, prepares student progress reports, and provides such reports to parents/guardians, as requested by the school principal;participates in the planning and evaluation of the instructional program, and interprets the same to parents as necessary;maintains a classroom atmosphere that fosters student learning;professionally handles concerns or complaints;properly and safely uses the materials and equipment provided by the district;develops and maintains cordial working relationships with other district employees;participates in continuing inservice opportunities and reviews publications and professional materials to keep informed of developments in the field of teaching and to improve personal performance;accepts a reasonable amount of responsibilities beyond classroom activities, as requested by the school principal.Qualifications: The teacher must:have a valid and appropriate Washington State CTE teaching certificate;have current immunizations;have a demonstrated ability to communicate and work well with others.Attributes: The teacher must demonstrate the following attributes:a helpful, calm, friendly, and polite manner when interacting with students, parents and school staff;the ability to work independently and cooperativelythe ability to make reasoned decisions;appropriate discretion concerning students, staff, and confidential or privileged information.Disclaimer: This job description indicated the general nature and essential duties and responsibilities of work to be performed by someone in this position.
