Successful employees embrace and model these values in their behaviors and actions.\n\nJob Description\n\nThis position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the dissolver and filter press process and all associated equipment.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nPerforms batch operations interfaced with computer-controlled equipment.\nInterprets laboratory data and adjusts process to insure production meets quality specs.\nPerforms maintenance on equipment to limits of personal ability and training and assists skilled maintenance personnel when needed in the repair, replacement, etc. of all plant equipment, buildings, utilities and services.\nMaintains high standards in housekeeping in all area of the plant and grounds.\nMaintains excellent verbal and/or written communications between shifts and fellow operators.\nReceives and carries out directions accurately and efficiently.\nFunctions in a team oriented operation and maintains active status as a team member.\nMaintains production and other company requirements.\nRequires detailed knowledge of entire process, SJP’S, and emergency procedures. Daily requirement is to lift up to 60 pounds. Stands or walks with intermittent climbing. Requires visual acuity.\nStart up and shut down equipment in accordance with procedures while meeting production needs.\nMaintain reliable operations of dissolving, glass unloading, fired boiler, and related equipment in conjunction with the maintenance department: i.e., pumps, motors, bearings, etc. through responsible and informed operation.\nDissolves glass from railcars, filters liquid material with filterpress and cleans/preps filterpress\nMove and spot railcars using a Trackmobile based on production demands\nAids Furnace Operator in the unloading of raw material as needed\nAdditional Duties & Responsibilities\nParticipates in plant-wide HSE, quality and productivity initiatives.\nParticipates on the Safety Committee on a voluntary rotating basis.\nParticipates in HSE activities (i.e., Toolbox meetings, Tigers Observations., accident investigations, Hazard IDs, etc.).\nPerforms special projects or other duties as directed.\nPerforms quality control tests according to SPP’S to include:\nProduct Baume’\nProduct % Na2O\nProduct Ratio\nProduct LPC\nProduct Viscosity\nProduct Turbidity\n\nQualifications\n\nMinimum Requirement: High school graduate or equivalent education.\nDesired: Post high school education.\nPrior background working in industrial production, preferably in a chemical processing plant.\nAble to demonstrate proficiency in the English language (written and verbal)\nAble to demonstrate basic computer skills including Microsoft Office products\nAble to demonstrate mechanical aptitude.\nGood interpersonal skills, works well within a team environment.\nForklift Certification (or able to be trained immediately upon hire)\nHeavy Equipment Certification (or able to be trained immediately upon hire)\n\nAdditional Information\n\nPhysical Skills & Abilities:\nMust meet the specified physical capabilities for this position\nWork Conditions:\nIndustrial plant environment\nMust be able to work shifts.\nMust be able to work overtime, holidays and weekends.\nEHS Responsibilities\nCommunicates, promotes and personally demonstrates Safety/Health (including PQP Principles) as #1 priority\nParticipation in risk assessment audits as applicable\nUnderstand PQ Principles (PQP) and how they are implemented in the site organization, rules and procedures\nCompletes HSE training requirements identified for the job in a timely manner\nPQ is an equal opportunity employer.
