They also review and evaluate customer requirements in conjunction with MTM's quality system.\n\nReports to: Welding Engineer Team Leader\n\nPersonnel: Not Applicable\n\nAccountabilities:\nProvide an interface between the fabrication shop personnel and Customer Focused Teams for welding needs, changes and ideas. Estimate time standards for quotations and assist in devising manufacturing plans for new fabrication work orders. Be involved in work order reviews. Work with CFT to review shop needs for upcoming work orders. Coordinate all Procedure Qualification Records and Welding Procedure Specifications: Write new PQR’s and WPS’s as necessary. Revise current PQR’s and WPS’s as necessary. Work with Welding Technician to improve content of WPS’s while staying within code limits. Maintain PQR’s and WPS’s\n\nAuthorities:\nMaintain and revise welding documentation per Storage and Maintenance of Welding Documentation procedure. Initiation and approval of welding process development per Qualifications of Welders and WPSs and Welding Process Development. Initiate and approve welder performance qualification per Qualifications of Welders and WPSs and Welder Performance Qualifications. Assign WPSs and welding consumable requirements to work orders.\n\nDuties:\nDesign various fixtures for new jobs while working with welding teams to minimize production downtime.\nSupport the weld shop regarding technical problems including but not limited to techniques and procedures.\nPerform CWI Inspection and/or random visual checks of work orders in process in conjunction with applicable specifications.\nSupervise process of Welder Performance Qualifications.\nWork with outside vendors/reps for shop needs.\nProvide customer interface if necessary.\nProvide technical training to MTM personnel as necessary.\nAdditional tasks as assigned by the Weld Engineer Team Leader.\n\nJob Qualification Requirements:\nEducational Experience – BS in Engineering/Engineering Technology with Welding emphasis or equivalent through work experience.\n\nExperience – At least four years progressive work experience in the welding field.
