We are looking for a "Purchasing Director" to join Sisecam Chemicals LLC based in Atlanta, GA. (We will also consider qualified candidates who may be interested in our Green River, WY location.) The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related fieldFive (5) to seven (7) years of experience in purchasing, including a working knowledge of warehousing and accounting methodsExperience working within a globally focused organization, including exposure to international ownership structuresProficiency with Microsoft D365, SAP, or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systemsProven ability to manage relationships between internal stakeholders and external suppliers, with strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with site personnel and vendorsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated negotiation capabilitiesStrong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detailExcellent time-management skills, with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, prioritize responsibilities, and delegate appropriatelyStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risk and make informed recommendationsDemonstrated supervisory and leadership skills, including experience managing teamsSolid understanding of core business and management principlesThorough knowledge of the materials and supplies utilized within a manufacturing environmentCPP (Certified Purchasing Professional) certification strongly preferredJOB DESCRIPTIONThis position plays a critical role in directing the activities of the Purchasing Department, operating in a cross‑functional, multi‑site environment, collaborating with teams across the Atlanta, GA and Green River, WY sites and closely coordinating with the Istanbul headquarters.Duties & Responsibilities:Supports and implements purchasing strategy for Sisecam through contract negotiations, evaluation of new products/supply sources, direct vendor contacts, key supplier management, product additive qualification and vendor analysis to provide more cost-effective alternativesManages and oversees corporate procurement needs to include commercial real estate negotiations, project management, company strategy development, corporate investment research and analysis, acquisition analysis research, domestic and export logistics procurement support, and coordination with sales and marketing for supplier/buyer relationshipsSupports and implements warehousing and inventory management strategies for Sisecam through inventory analysis, warehouse tracking, vendor relationships and cash flow requirements of SisecamCoordinates with stakeholders for appropriate inventory stocking levels, annual obsolescence, costing and availability of critical spare parts for operationAssesses risk associated with all purchases, contracts and relationships with vendors and provides recommendations to C Suite executives for decisions on company vision and actionsManages third party warehouse operation for port facility with regards to imported inventory items to include consumption, forecasting, ordering, and customs brokeringForecasts and manages all raw material input needs for the facility to include weekly inventory evaluation, lead time analysis, consumption analysis and trends, planning and sourcing of alternate materials when necessaryDevelops project deliverables, schedule, scopes of work and bid packages in coordination with project managers and technical department managers ensuring on time delivery and schedule for all capital projectsDevelops invoicing plans for large capital equipment in coordination with Finance management team to meet cash flow expectations and budget complianceSupports and creates value adding strategies and cost savings efforts for the organizationOversees the strategic partnership of purchasing which include reviewing and approving purchase orders, expediting overdue orders, advising operating departments regarding price, supply, and procedures, and supporting the ISO certification and sustainability programAssesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables to include general economics, pricing and consumer indicesBuilds strong trusting relationships with existing partners, as well as finds, investigates, and retains new reliable trade partners to bolster Sisecam’s portfolio of trade partnersIn coordination with Energy and Finance management develops the company natural gas hedging program (Through the natural gas hedging program, responsible for management of financial hedges, physical index gas allocations, tracking of all natural gas transactions, development of forecast gas markets data and budget preparation and management.)Monitors and analyzes market risks related to natural gas pricing and product availability to ensure maximum operational time for the plantPrepares and presents market conditions and merchandise cost reportsDevelop spend analysis and recommendations for use in financial determinations, cash flows, accounting, and budget preparationResolves grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliersMaintains and/or implements purchasing and recordkeeping systemsActs as the company’s representative in negotiations with suppliersAdministers the departmental budgetAdheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes while focusing on safety and best practicesPerforms other related duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibilities:Hires and manages the Purchasing, Warehouse and Analyst team employees, and other staff as neededOversees the strategic workflow and schedules of the departmentConducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructiveHandles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policyABOUT USSisecam was founded in 1935 to establish Turkey’s glass industry in line with the vision of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, a great leader respected worldwide.
