The Production Supervisor most critical function is to assure that those specifications are understood and adhered to by all members of the department.\n\nWork scheduled on the shift – (May include overtime & weekend work)\n3rd Shift\n\nSCOPE OF WORK PERFORMED\nEnsure Machine Set-up meets production and quality goals\nDetermine actual machines and locations where work is to be assigned\nAssuring a steady flow and process of work\nInterface with Quality, Engineering, Payroll, Human Resources and Management\nDaily assignment of duties for entire department\nTraining and Supervision of all operators in the correct and safe use of equipment\nTraining new employees in inspection procedures and/or work instructions\nEnsure lead hands are adhering to their responsibilities as outline in the Lead Hand Job Description\nEnsure employees are performing their duties to the standards and guidelines a\nReinforce compliance with Health & Safety regulations, Company rules, policies and procedures\nEnsure employees work in a manner and with the protective devices, measures and procedure required by the Occupational Health & Safety Act and the regulations.\nEnsure employees use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing as required by the company\nEnsure employees are trained and follow prints, work/inspection procedures and/or work instructions\nEnsure employees are upholding quality standards and perform inspection prior to completion of paperwork and/or labour entry\nEnsure all paperwork and/or data entry is completed accurately and on time\nEnsure all machines are operating at maximum efficiency and utilization\nOrganize the employees to ensure maximum efficiency from the work center\nEnsure that material is delivered to the designated area prior to shift start\nReport any damage to machines or tooling to supervisors and/or maintenance immediately\nEnsure that all schedules and deadline are met by the employees\nEnsure finished product is delivered to the next operation and/or drop-off zone\nContinuously look for ways to improve production, quality and safe working conditions in the plant\nEnsure employees maintain proper housekeeping standard.\nEnsure communication flow from company to employees and vice versa\nAssess employees ability to perform certain jobs, which can lead to further training or reassignment of job\nProvide employees and Lead Hands with coaching and counseling as required\nExecute progressive discipline when deemed necessary\nSupport Management decisions and employ diplomacy when directing employees\nAll other duties as assigned by the Production Manager\n\nGENERAL QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES\n\n2-3 years previous supervisory experience\nAbility to read and interpret dimensional and weld prints\nAbility to train, motivate, coach and counsel others\nMust have excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interact with employees, and all levels of management\nMust possess problem solving, conflict resolution and decision making skills\nExcellent written/oral communication and excellent listening skills\nWorks well independently and in a team environment\nStrong organizational skills, able to prioritize\nMust possess the ability to provide and receive positive criticism\nMust have the ability to take ownership and be accountable for the department\nAbility to multi-task, excellent time management skills and detailed orientated\nMust be creative and possess the ability to think outside the box\nEnsure confidentiality of all employee information\nMathematical aptitude\nPhysical Demands & Work Conditions\nWorking in a plant environment\nFrequent distractions and interruptions\nMultiple demands, challenging, fast paced, team orientated environment, can be noisy\nConstant standing, walking, bending and lifting and climbing\nWarm/Cold temperatures\nConstant communication with employees, peers, management and customers involving time management, multi-tasking, scheduling, decision making, forecasting and problem solving\nIntense work atmosphere\nUse of computer and phone\nOvertime as required\n\nNDS, a proud member of NORMA Group, is a market leader for solutions in Storm Water Management, Efficient Landscape Irrigation, and Flow Management for residential and commercial markets.
