Smith Pump is seeking a skilled and experienced pump installer to join our dedicated team. If you have a passion for problem solving and don’t mind getting your hands dirty or being on the road this is the position for you.\n\nAs an experienced pump installer, the Well Rig Operator provides on-site service to customers in the field to install pump equipment, conduct inspections and regular/preventive maintenance, troubleshoot problems and service equipment. Works with engineers, pump mechanics and panel technicians in problem-solving solutions on a wide variety of water and waste water pumps, motors and controls, with shop work as required. Correctly uses and maintains tools of the trade including hand tools, power tools, electrical equipment and measuring instruments in a physically demanding outdoor environment.\n**Travel: 75%**\nGet ready to hit the road! This role involves approximately 75% travel throughout the Texas market.\n\n**Position Requirements:**\n*Required*\n\nExperience as a service technician and/or mechanic.\nUnderstanding of water pumps, or electrical or mechanical equipment.\nStrong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to maintain positive relationships with both employees and customers.\nAbility to drive a commercial vehicle daily to job sites.\n\n*Preferred*\n\nFive (5) years of experience in pump field service and/or pump service rig work.\nCertified Pump Installer by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.\nComputer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.\nClass A Commercial Driver's License.\n\n**Duties and Responsibilities:**\n\nPump troubleshooting and diagnostics.\nTeardown, inspection, reporting, and repair of pumps in the shop.\nMaintenance and repair of tools and equipment.\nAbility to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.\n\n**Physical Demands:**\nThe Field Service Tech is physically demanding, requiring the ability to stand for most of the workday.
