{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"6c83f47ff7a65d1dbb72162d","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/6c83f47ff7a65d1dbb72162d","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/6c83f47ff7a65d1dbb72162d","title":"Network Estimator - Structured Cabling/Technology Systems","description":"Walker Engineering in Irving is seeking an estimator in structured cabling/technology systems in commercial construction projects.\r\nOverall ScopeThe Structured Cabling/Technology Systems Estimator/Designer position works closely with our sales team, clients, and project teams to provide an understanding of the client needs and produce an estimate of materials and labor to provide the services to meet those needs.\r\nPerform all duties as outlined below in a Positive Team environment.\r\nInteract with Sales, Project Team, and Clients\r\nReview Request for Proposals (RFP) with Team\r\nDevelop Request for Information’s (RFI) as needed\r\nReview & Understand Specifications as required of the RFP\r\nPerform physical take-offs of plans for counts of materials\r\nCompile information to provide an accurate cost model/estimate of labor and materials\r\nInteract with Distributors and Manufacturers for product pricing\r\nPerform write up of services to be performed based on plans and specifications\r\nUtilize industry knowledge to assess accuracy of RFP\r\nConduct site surveys when necessary\r\nIdentify Scope Gap that is necessary for a complete and operational system\r\nDesign Structured Cabling Systems when required\r\nCompile to turn over documentation for Operations Team.\r\nPrepare job specific submittals\r\nPrepare Change Orders as necessary\r\nRepresent Walker Engineering at Trade Shows and other Industry Events\r\nSkills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:Organized, Detailed, and Accuracy Orientated\r\nMinimum 10 years of experience in structured cabling construction.\r\nIndustry Certifications:RCDD strongly preferred,Other BICSI Certifications a plus\r\nKnowledge of Cabling Standards (BICSI, EIA/TIA)\r\nEstimating/Design experience with: Mission Critical / Datacenters (Hyperscale, Colo, Enterprise, etc), Commercial Office Buildings, Manufacturing, Healthcare (Hospitals, MOB, etc)\r\nExperience estimating projects between$1M - $5Mand higher\r\nConceptual Project Budgeting/Cost Modeling\r\nField Installation knowledge/experience a plus\r\nAudio/Visual and Security Systems knowledge/experience a plus\r\nSkillful in writing detailed Scope of Work (SOW)\r\nStrong Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel & Word a must)\r\nWorking knowledge of computing programs\r\nThis is an onsite position based out of the Walker Irving office.
