This mid-level role supports the design and delivery of mechanical and plumbing systems for architectural building projects and collaborates closely with senior engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical fundamentals, initiative, and the ability to contribute to projects from concept through construction.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nAssist with mechanical and plumbing system design for building projects, including HVAC, hydronic, plumbing, and building automation systems.\n\nPerform engineering calculations, analysis, and equipment selection in support of project design.\n\nDevelop and edit technical specifications and construction documents.\n\nCreate and modify design drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.\n\nSupport senior engineers with research, design development, and client coordination.\n\nParticipate in construction observations and prepare technical field reports.\n\nCommunicate effectively with architects, engineers, regulatory agencies, and other project stakeholders.\n\nAssist with project fee development and support small project team coordination.\n\nMaintain accurate documentation of calculations, drawings, field observations, and client communications.\n\nContribute to technical quality reviews and constructability reviews to ensure compliance with codes and standards.\n\nSupport ongoing professional development, training, and licensure requirements.\n\nJob Requirements:\n\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program (or approved equivalent).\n\n8+ years of relevant experience with a four-year ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering\n\n(experience requirements may vary based on degree path and education).\n\nPassed the FE exam administered by NCEES.\n\nProfessional Engineer (PE) licensure in the United States or ability to obtain licensure.\n\nExperience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite.\n\nFamiliarity with HVAC, plumbing, and building mechanical systems.\n\nAbility to learn or apply UFC, DoD, and VA design criteria.\n\nStrong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.\n\nAbility to train and support junior staff.\n\nAbility to travel and attend local client or company meetings.\n\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and safely perform site visits.\n\nMust be authorized to work in the United States.\n\nPre-employment drug test, background check, and valid driver’s license required.\n\nWhat We Offer:\nWe provide a collaborative and supportive environment with opportunities to grow technical expertise, gain project leadership experience, and work on diverse building projects.
