Position DetailsPosition InformationPosition Title Head Coach/Women's VolleyballDivision Vice President Student Affairs(DIV)Department Athletics & RecreationJob DescriptionThe Head Coach/Women’s Volleyball is responsible for the overall operation of the college’s intercollegiate volleyball team for the Fall season.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesAssists the Director/Athletics & Recreation with finalizing the volleyball schedule.Holds tryouts for team formation after August 1, but before the beginning of the Fall season.Assists with ordering of, as well as distribution and collection of volleyball equipment and uniforms.Conducts a sufficient number of practice sessions each week, with each session lasting approximately one and one-half hours.Ensures safety procedures are followed while coaching.Distributes all monies used by the team at “away” games; and keeps record receipts of monies spent.Serves as liaison between the Director/Athletics & Recreation and opposing teams.Provides guidance to the assistant coach.Ensures appropriate conduct is observed by all team members and personnel at both “home” and “away” games and at all practice sessions.Assists with organization and administration of the WPCC and volleyball tournaments, when those tournaments are hosted by the college.Reports all game scores to the local newspaper immediately following each game.Record and report all game statistics to the athletic office following each game.Recruits team members from the college’s general student population.Recruits team members from area high schools, in accordance with the college’s recruitment policy.Performs other head coaching duties as assigned by the Director/Athletics & Recreation.Required QualificationsPost-secondary degree in a related field desired; recreation/physical education major preferredPrevious volleyball coaching desiredPreferred QualificationsN/APhysical DemandsAbility to stand, walk, and sit, sometimes for long periods of timeRepetitive finger/hand movementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Occasional bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, etc.Salary $4,833 (seasonal)Schedule Days/Hours Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, SundayPosting Detail InformationPosting Number S-2023-252-PNumber of Vacancies 1Desired Start DatePosition End Date (if temporary)Job Open Date 05/15/2026Job Close DateOpen Until Filled YesSpecial Instructions to ApplicantsPlease have your resume, cover letter, and information for three professional references to provide with your application.
