The Human Resources department supports the NE Region and upstate NY which includes 6,500 employees.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nProvides guidance, assistance and resolution to managers and supervisors on employee/labor relations as well as harassment and discrimination matters, discipline, company policy and procedure interpretation, collective bargaining agreements, local, state and federal regulations/compliance, leave administration, FMLA, ADA, wage and hour, I-9 compliance, etc.\r\nConducts on-site internal investigations often involving highly complex and sensitive employment matters, including but not limited to harassment and discrimination investigations, and prepares comprehensive investigation reports with recommended findings.\r\nDevelops, conducts, and/or coordinates training sessions, seminars, formal presentations and informal round discussions on human resources related disciplines, including topics such as new hire orientation, harassment and discrimination awareness and prevention, FMLA, ADA, discipline, performance management, etc.\r\nWorks with management to facilitate employee onboarding and off-boarding, including processing required paperwork throughout the employee life cycle and conducting background checks.\r\nConducts recruitment efforts, including posting positions, drafting advertisements, and interviewing candidates.\r\nQualifications\r\nPossession of a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Human Resources Management; PHR or SPHR preferred.\r\nMinimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressive human resources experience at a generalist or senior generalist level with emphasis on investigations and employee/labor relations.\r\nExtensive investigative experience.\r\nPrevious experience working in a Union environment.\r\nExtensive working knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and regulations related to compliance, employee relations, collective bargaining, EEO, FMLA, ADA, I-9, wage and hour, worker's compensation, etc.\r\nKnowledgeable of the principles and practices of human resources management and supervision in a union environment.\r\nAbility to manage and administer a broad range of tasks, including resolving complaints and counseling managers and employees on policy and collective bargaining agreement interpretation.\r\nDemonstrated strong presentation, communication (oral, written, negotiation) and interpersonal skills, and ability to interface with all levels of employees, including executive management.\r\nValid driver's license and reliable transportation; up to 50% travel within the region required.\r\nFluency and writing proficiency in both English and Spanish required.\r\nCompensation and Travel\r\nBase salary: $75,000 – $100,000. Bonus: up to 10% of base. Travel: up to 50% within the region. Paid relocation available.
