Accounting II- Billing

Summary:This is the journey level class in the clerical accounting series assigned to the Billing Department. Positions in this class are normally filled by advancement from level I, or when filled from the outside, require prior clerical accounting experience. Appointment to the higher class requires that the employee perform the full range of duties for the class and meet the qualification standards for the class. An Accounting Clerk II works under general supervision and, within the framework of established procedures, is expected to perform a variety of accounting duties with only occasional instruction or assistance. Willingness to travel occasionally to regional site(s) for team events, cross training, project implementation or training conferences.Duties and Responsibilities:Collecting data and inputting the data into various databasesReviewing records for accuracyUpdating databases with new or revised information as necessaryPerforming regular backups of information to ensure data preservationRetrieving records and electronic files from the databaseSorting and organizing paper records or notes after data entryUpdating customer databaseChecking the data imported into the accounting system to ensure accuracy of invoicesCreate invoices and credit memosAnswering questions and handling complaints from customers regarding invoicesReporting billing activity to upper managementProviding excellent customer service and maintaining relationships with internal and external customersOther duties as assignedEducation and QualificationsHigh School DiplomaStrongly prefer a four-year degree in accounting, finance, or business administration or another business-oriented fieldOne year of clerical accounting experience performing fiscal or statistical work in an office environment; or one year as an Accounting Clerk I with Boyett PetroleumDemonstrated computer skills, especially importing to and exporting from ExcelStrong data entry skills and attention to detailTESTING REQUIREMENTS:Candidate will be required to participate in the following as a condition to hire:Assessment Testing as NeededCulture Index SurveyGENERAL INFORMATIONBenefits offerings include medical, dental, and vision coverage; Mutual of Omaha life insurance with buy up option, Mutual of Omaha supplemental plans, vacation accrual and paid holidays.
