This position reports to the Program Manager of U.S.VETS at the site and receives guidance and direction from the National Workforce Development role.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nOversees daily operations of Workforce Development Department including staff and Career Center.\nEnsures case management services are provided to clients enrolled in the Workforce\nDevelopment program; includes addressing legal, educational, or health barriers.\nWorks with clients and staff to develop an employment plan.\nMaintains primary responsibility for the tracking of the clients progress through his or her particular program and documents such progress in the case note section of the client case file and/or on various workforce forms in the client file.\nAssists with the preparation of proposals, budgets, and application packages.\nPerforms necessary tasks to achieve Workforce Program goals and compile data for reporting.\nResponsible for reports and corrective action plans for workforce funders, such as Department of Labor and Call of Duty Endowment, and organization weekly, monthly, and year-end reports.\nUses a variety of local, regional, and national labor market information to assist clients in making informed employment choice.\nDevelop and manage relationships with senior level professionals and Human Resources managers that will open the doors for new employment opportunities for veterans.\nEffectively use multi-channel sourcing activities such as social networking sites, career sites, professional organizations, etc. to identify potential employment opportunities.\nIdentify new employer opportunities through various business development techniques including cold-calling, following up on warm leads and attending networking events; consistently research ways to create partnerships with local businesses.\nDeliver organized, structured, and persuasive presentations that communicate U.S.VETS mission, goals, values, and brand.\nAssesses clients need for supportive services and initiates appropriate supportive services.\nEnsures a detailed case file is maintained on each client and assures that all veteran case files include a skill set assessment.\nSecures meetings with company hiring representatives to present the organizations programs and makes presentation of clients employment backgrounds to prospective employers.\nMeets with referred clients to assess employment skills and goals and refer to job openings.\nDevelops and maintains a database of local area employers contacting them at least monthly for potential job opportunities for clients.\nOversees job readiness and retention classes for clients to increase marketable work-related skills for obtaining and retaining employment.\nWorks to place clients who have completed a retraining/vocational education program, as needed.\nCoordinates Career Fairs, Job Clubs, On-the-Job Training Programs, and Work Therapy Programs with clients and prospective employers.\nHandles special projects as required.\nPerforms other duties as required.\n\nQualifications\nRequirements:\n\nBachelors degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Human Services, Social Services, or related field other related field preferred. Minimum of four years of relevant employment experience may substitute for degree requirements.\nMinimum of two years of supervisory experience in related field. Two years of employment at U.S.VETS may substitute for supervisory experience.\nExperience working with homeless and/or veteran population preferred.\nAbility to work effectively with a diverse group of clients, staff, and community members.\nExcellent written and oral communication skills.\nLeadership and conflict management skills.\nDemonstration of personal and financial integrity in the workplace.\nAbility to take direction, work independently with minimal oversight, and to work within a team.\nComputer proficient in Microsoft Office and Internet.\nAbility to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.\nMust have strong presentation skills and possess the ability to interact with small, medium, and large groups.\nValid drivers license required. Must meet company insurance requirements and complete a provided driver training course.\nExperience dealing with clients possessing multiple barriers to employment preferred.\n\n(All applications must be completed in entirety.
