Cloud Operations Engineer

e&e is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer for an onsite contract opportunity in Moorestown, New Jersey!Seeking a highly motivated Cloud Operations Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in containerization, orchestration, and cloud-native technologies, who can also collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams. The individual will play a key role in maintaining an onsite virtualization environment.Qualifications & Education RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Required QualificationsU.S. Citizenship is required.Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.5–7+ years of experience in Cloud Operations, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or DevOps.Hands-on experience with Podman, Docker, and Docker Compose in production environments.Strong experience deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters.Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash and Python.Experience with version control systems, including Git.Experience working with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), such as Eclipse.Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.Strong understanding of networking, security, and Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.Comfortable participating in team planning sessions and stakeholder meetings.Familiarity with driver-based and automated test environments.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and support containerized environments using Podman, Docker, and Docker Compose.Deploy, monitor, and scale applications running on Kubernetes clusters.Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and repeatable deployments.Collaborate with development, security, and product teams to plan, deploy, and maintain services.Create and maintain operational documentation, procedures, and runbooks.Preferred QualificationsExperience with the following is considered a plus:Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible.Podman in rootless environments.Operating within IL5/IL6 compliance environments.Cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.High-availability or regulated environments (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2).Industry Experience5–7+ years of related professional experience.
