This role focuses on the development, integration, and operational performance of space communications systems across government and commercial architectures. The ideal candidate is an early-career engineer with strong technical fundamentals, a systems mindset, and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders across a mission lifecycle. Core responsibilities include:Perform stakeholder engagement and requirements development: Conduct assessments of satellite communication concepts of operations across a mission’s lifecycle and translate stakeholder needs into detailed system requirements and technical specificationsDrive system interoperability and interface management: Review Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and technical specifications to ensure successful integration between legacy and next-generation communication systems.Oversee integration and test campaign development: Support the planning, coordination, and execution of integration and test activities for government to commercial communication architectures, ensuring mission success criteria are met.Execute technical analysis and decision support: Conduct analysis of alternative studies using quantitative methods and present actionable recommendations to senior leadership and program management.Develop verification and validation strategy: Design comprehensive V&V strategies and success criteria that satisfy key stakeholder requirements and concepts of operations.Lead project lifecycle compliance and stakeholder communication: Prepare and deliver executive-level technical documentation and presentations for NASA review boards, ensuring alignment with agency standards and securing program approvals.QualificationsMinimum Education: Master of Science in Electrical EngineeringYears of experience: 0 - 5 years of experience in related industry or projects.Work Authorization: Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident.Role/Work ScheduleThis is a full-time, on-site position in Cleveland, OH.Preferred SkillsExperience with NASA human space flight systems and/or other mission operational experienceKnowledge of satellite communications fundamentals, including RF modulation techniques, error correction coding, and applicable standardsMaster’s degree in Electrical Engineering, with coursework or experience in satellite communicationsFamiliarity with ground station and network equipmentUnderstanding of NASA space communications networks (e.g. Space Relay (SR), Near Space Network (NSN), Direct to Earth (DTE), and Deep Space Network (DSN)) and/or commercial networksExperience with requirements development and the NASA project lifecycleStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical concepts to both technical peers and executive-level stakeholders
