Position Title: Marine Service ManagerLocation: Chester Point Marina – Chester, CTJob Type: Full-Time On-SitePosition Overview:Chester Point Marina is seeking an experienced Marine Service Manager to oversee and coordinate daily operations within our high-end, full-service boatyard and marina facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, and customer service skills, along with extensive experience in the marine industry and a thorough understanding of vessel systems, repair processes, and boatyard operations.This position requires an individual capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction expected within a premier marine service operation.Chester Point Marina specializes in high-end finish paint work and services a wide range of premium vessels, including Palm Beach Motor Yachts, Pershing Yachts, and Grand Banks Yachts. Our facility is an authorized Volvo Penta dealer with factory-trained technicians and also employs factory-trained Yamaha outboard technicians.The facility includes:70-ton travel lift50-ton hydraulic craneFour hydraulic trailers27,000 sq/ft of heated indoor storageFull-service mechanical, paint, fiberglass, and marine systems departmentsKey Responsibilities:Manage and coordinate all daily service department operations and workflowSchedule and oversee marine repair, maintenance, paint, and refit projectsCommunicate directly with customers regarding estimates, scheduling, project updates, and invoicingPrepare estimates, work orders, and service documentationCoordinate technicians, subcontractors, and yard personnel to ensure projects are completed efficiently and professionallyOversee quality control and ensure all work meets company and manufacturer standardsWork closely with the Yard Foreman to coordinate vessel movements, hauling, launching, and storage logisticsManage seasonal workload planning and indoor storage schedulingSupport and maintain relationships with premium yacht owners and manufacturersAssist in troubleshooting complex mechanical and marine systems issues when necessaryEnsure compliance with all safety, environmental, and marina operational proceduresMaintain a professional and organized service department environmentQualifications:Minimum 5+ years of marine industry management experience preferredExtensive knowledge of marine systems, vessel operations, and boatyard proceduresExperience managing service projects involving paint, mechanical, electrical, and marine systems workStrong understanding of Volvo Penta systems, IPS drives, Yamaha outboards, and marine diesel engines preferredExcellent communication, organizational, and customer service skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExperience preparing estimates, scheduling labor, and managing budgetsStrong leadership and team management abilitiesComputer proficiency and familiarity with marine service management software preferredValid driver’s license requiredPreferred Skills:Experience working within a high-end yacht service environmentKnowledge of yacht refinishing and paint processesABYC certifications a plusExperience operating or coordinating heavy equipment and vessel handling operationsCompensation & Benefits:Competitive salary based on experiencePerformance-based bonus opportunitiesHealth benefits (if applicable)401(k) plan with company matchPaid holidays and vacation timeContinuing education and manufacturer training opportunitiesLong-term career growth within a premier marine service facilityWork Environment:This position is based in a fast-paced, high-end boatyard environment and requires both office and hands-on operational involvement.
