Overview:\nThe Quality Control Manager, as a member of our growing Quality Assurance team, will serve as a technical expert and will lead the QA/QC process of land development plan submissions. This person will play a key role in improving technical standards, value engineering, and eliminating design issues before and during construction. The QC Manager will also work closely with staff to develop a culture of technical excellence. This position will support the entire company and can be based in any of our offices. If you are not local, flexible arrangements can be made.\nResponsibilities:\nPerform independent technical review in the areas of Land Development Plan Design, Stormwater Management Design, Water and Sanitary Sewer Design and Erosion and Sedimentation Control Design.\nIdentify potential design or constructability issues and provide value engineering for solutions that meet project requirements while reducing costs.\nEnsure the quality of project deliverables.\nWork collaboratively with the project managers and multi-disciplined design teams.\nVerify that design and code requirements have been defined by the project engineer and have been indicated on the design documents.\nLead regular training and development sessions to foster an environment of technical excellence.\nProvide vision and guidance to the firm in the area of Design and Production of technical deliverables.\nPerform periodic evaluations of staff to identify training needs within assigned region and report to Head of QA.\nAssist in training material preparation and lead training as needed.Assist in improvement of design tools, processes and procedures.\nBalance your own workload in a deadline driven environment.\nManage a small team in future.\nTravel to other offices when necessary.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering preferred\n10+ years’ experience in Civil Site Engineering (residential and/or commercial/industrial/office site design and permitting experience).\nProfessional Engineer (PE) registration is a plus\nValid driver’s license.\nAbility to maintain and operate personal and/or company vehicle.\nFamiliar with AutoCAD/Land Development Desktop.\nFamiliar with BlueBeam for mark ups\nIn depth knowledge of the planning and zoning process.\nAdvanced skill level in design capabilities.\nAdvanced problem-solving skills.\nProficient grading and drainage design skills.\nUtility design experience including pump station and force mains.\nProficient in the use of Microsoft Software including Word, Excel, Outlook and Project.\nExcellent written and oral communication skills.\nIndependent and critical thinking abilities.\nAbility to work and lead in a team-oriented environment with a focus on staff development and mentoring.\nWhat We Offer: We strive to provide a great company culture consisting of a variety of team building events: trivia nights, softball and volleyball leagues, mini golf tournaments, BBQ’s, happy hours, poker nights, catered weekly staff meetings, surfboard lending programs, and much more.
