The role is responsible for CNC programming, tooling and fixture design, machine setup and calibration, process validation, and continuous improvement to meet quality, cost, and delivery objectives for production and prototype work in a job-shop and/or production environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and optimize CNC programs (G-Code) using CAM and post-processing tools to produce efficient, collision-free toolpaths for 3-axis through 5-axis machining.\nCreate and maintain CAM/CAD files and models using MasterCAM, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Siemens NX, Catia, CAMWorks, GibbsCAM, Edgecam or equivalent software.\nPerform CNC simulation and verification (Vericut or similar), validate post-processors, and refine post-processing for Fanuc, Haas, Siemens Controls, Heidenhain and other controllers.\nDesign tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions to ensure repeatable, accurate setups and tight tolerance machining.\nSelect cutting tools, optimize feeds and speeds, and implement toolpath optimization and tool management best practices to reduce cycle times and extend tool life.\nSet up and calibrate CNC milling machines, turning centers, multi-axis machines, Swiss turning and lathes; perform first part setups and machine verification.\nSupport and perform precision metrology and first article inspections using CMM, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges and related inspection tools; interpret and apply GD&T requirements.\nTroubleshoot CNC machine issues, perform preventive maintenance, and coordinate repairs or rebuilds with maintenance and machine vendors.\nLead process validation activities including First Article Inspection, SPC, Statistical Process Control, root cause analysis, and corrective actions (FMEA when required).\nDrive continuous improvement, lean initiatives, Kaizen events and Six Sigma projects to reduce cycle time and improve yield, cost and quality.\nEnsure manufacturing documentation is maintained: process plans, setup sheets, work instructions, and inspection plans; support ISO 9001 and AS9100 compliance requirements.\nWork cross-functionally with production planning, procurement and engineering to support material selection, production scheduling, ERP/MRP systems (SAP/Oracle) and job-shop operations.\nIntegrate automation where appropriate: robotics, PLC programming and cell integration; support EDM, Wire EDM and surface grinding processes as needed.\nTrain machine operators and junior programmers on CNC best practices, safe setup and advanced machining techniques.\nQualifications\nBachelors degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical degree or experience.\n5+ years of hands-on experience in CNC programming, process development, and production support in a precision machining environment (job shop or production).\nDemonstrated proficiency with CAM and CAD tools such as MasterCAM, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, CAMWorks, GibbsCAM, Catia, Edgecam, AutoCAD and Vericut.\nStrong knowledge of G-Code, post-processing, CNC simulation, and controllers including Fanuc, Haas, Siemens and Heidenhain.\nExtensive experience with 3-axis, 4-axis and 5-axis machining, CNC milling, turning, Swiss turning and multi-axis machining centers and lathes.\nProven skills in tooling design, fixture design, workholding, cutting tool selection, feeds and speeds and tool management.\nExperience with metrology and quality systems: GD&T, CMM programming/operation, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, FAI and SPC.\nPractical experience with root cause analysis, FMEA, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen and continuous improvement methodologies.\nFamiliarity with materials and metallurgy relevant to machining (aluminum, steels, titanium, high-performance alloys) and machining strategies for tight tolerance parts.\nExperience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP or Oracle preferred), production planning and job-shop operations.\nStrong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate across functions.\nAbility to travel to machine vendor sites and supplier locations as required and to work flexible hours to support production needs.\n\nBenefits\n\nCompetitive pay $85,000-$120K Salary DOE\nMedical\nDental\nVision\n401K\nPTO\nSick time\n\n- For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
