Your impact
Verify quality through visual, mechanical, and electrical inspections of Powell-manufactured equipment.
Configure and operate microprocessor-based relays; energize systems including panels, HVAC, battery chargers, and UPS equipment.
Diagnose issues, conduct root-cause analyses, and drive corrective actions.
Run tests with multimeters, clamp-on meters, voltage detectors, and Hi-Pot units; perform upkeep on test equipment.
Capture and maintain complete QC documentation and test records.
Work side-by-side with shop, engineering, sales, shipping, fabrication, PCR, and switchgear teams; interface with suppliers, customers, and other Powell subsidiaries.
Support production checkpoints, final inspections, and release to shipping.
Use Powell systems to log engineering/shop discrepancies, non-conformities, and material shortages.
Identify risks to product quality, contribute to continuous improvement projects, and uphold a strong safety culture by attending safety meetings.
Keep work areas orderly; continue building core electrical and relevant mechanical knowledge.
What you bring
HS diploma/GED or trade school diploma/certificate.
1–3 years in a manufacturing setting.
Fluency reading technical documentation: specs, wiring diagrams, schematics, three-line drawings, wiring lists, and part drawings.
Stand-out qualifications
Quality inspection experience with electrical or electronic equipment/components.
Comfort with industry codes and standards and referencing them in daily work.

Where you'll work
This is a safety sensitive position in a temperature-controlled manufacturing/industrial environment with occasional outdoor activities. PPE is required (hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety harnesses, and respirators when applicable). You will also perform computer-based work in an office setting. Duties may require working from step, A-frame, or extension ladders and scaffolding, and operating at heights typically up to 30 feet with proper lift equipment.
Physical requirements
Maintain balance and agility while walking, standing, crouching, and using stairs.
Frequent bending at waist and knees; repetitive reaching and arm extension.
Extended standing and walking (50–300 feet) with limited opportunities to sit.
Frequent stair climbing during the shift.
Regular overhead tasks and full extension use of both arms.
Apply continuous force up to 50 lbs with upper extremities.
Use tin snips, hammers, and vibrating power tools for long, repetitive intervals.
