Do you have what it takes to Be Calspan?\n\nThis is a 3rd shift position.\n\nResponsibilities:\nManage in alignment with our Company Values. Lead with the intent to create a respectful and healthy work culture that embraces inclusion. Create awareness in others of their abilities; involve others and share authority in planning and decision-making; challenge the Team and provide support by allowing them to take appropriate risks. Create an environment in which others feel ownership for results and feel comfortable taking action to achieve desired results. Provide timely, constructive feedback regarding performance with a commitment to motivate, train, and develop. Manage administrative responsibilities and assume full responsibility for accomplishments of department functions.\nManage and support execution of tire testing operations in an accurate and efficient manner. Work closely with Test Engineering and Operations Teams to carry out detailed, logical, and practical test objectives, and communicate them to the 3rd shift test crew. Monitor test program progress and provide feedback to both the test crew and customer. Apply knowledge of engineering methodology to accurately complete and assign tasks within budget and schedule. Assist in maintaining schedules, assessing risk, monitoring and improving data quality, and communication across all shifts.\nProvide technical guidance to personnel involved in test execution, troubleshooting, pretest, and data processing activities. Verify and validate tire test data. Compile data and generate all test reports accurately and on time. Support testing staff to ensure consistent and accurate data processing results.\nManage personnel responsible for all 3rd shift tire testing operations and direct testing activities amongst technicians, mechanics, and engineering.\nWork closely with technicians and mechanics to set-up equipment, test articles, and facilities to prepare for and execute tests.\nQualifications:\n\nPreferred Education & Experience:\n\nBachelors in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline;\n5+ years in testing, automotive design, or manufacturing environment\nPrevious experience in management position or;\nA combination of education and experience equivalent to above\n\nPreferred Knowledge / Ability:\n\nFamiliarity with experimental test methods\nUnderstanding of complex systems including data acquisition, signal conditioning, and instrumentation\nAbility to read, interpret, and manage engineering plans and specifications\nUnderstanding of project management concepts (metrics, tracking, etc.)\nAbility to clearly communicate objectives to staff and customers\nFamiliarity with software development and data science topics\nUnderstanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems\nPython, Matlab, and 3D CAD design software experience\n\nWhy join Calspan?\n\nBe Calspan Culture\n\nAt Calspan, we promote an environment that empowers employees and encourages innovation.
