DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position supports the Delaware Forest District by performing maintenance, repairs, and facility improvements across buildings, equipment, and forest resources. Your dedicated efforts will help to ensure safe operations, quality public service, and well-maintained natural areas. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:Facility Repair: Repair building structures, paint facilities, and complete masonry, roofing, plumbing, and electrical tasksResource Work: Plant seedlings, apply herbicides, maintain tree shelters, and support wildlife and regeneration projectsEquipment Operation: Operate and maintain trucks, ATVs, snowmobiles, and spray equipment used in forest managementFire Assistance: Patrol for wildfires, assist with suppression efforts, and participate in prescribed fire activitiesGeneral Support: Assist with search and rescue efforts, purchasing tasks, training programs, and district operationsGrounds Maintenance: Cut grass, remove snow, repair fencing, and maintain public water wellsInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Work hours will change to 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM during the Spring fire season.Overtime may be required.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.
