Founded in Austin in 2005, we are publicly traded, ranked #1 by revenue in identity governance and administration, named a 2026 Gartner Peer Insights™ Customers' Choice for IGA, and trusted by many of the world's largest and most regulated organizations. Our core values -- innovation, integrity, impact, and individuals -- guide how every SailPoint crew member shows up. As identity becomes the control plane for modern security, we are investing in the channels where our buyers actually make decisions.\r\nAbout the RoleThe way buyers research and select identity security and IGA platforms is changing fast. A meaningful and growing share of our prospects no longer start with Google search results. They start with prompts for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Google's AI Overviews, and they take those answers seriously. Whether a company surfaces in those answers, and how it is described when it does, is an increasingly critical factor for pipeline and brand.\r\nThis role focuses on Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), also called Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). You will own how SailPoint's brand, products, point of view, and category narrative show up when buyers ask AI engines questions about our space. Traditional SEO does not go away, and you will continue to run that program, but the center of gravity of this role is AEO.\r\nYou will succeed by setting the strategy, executing the work that lives with you, and influencing SailPoint crew across product marketing, content, communications, customer marketing, web, and analyst relations to do their part. This is an individual contributor role, and you will report directly to the VP of Digital Marketing.\r\nWhat You'll DoOwn the AEO/GEO program end to end.\r\nDefine SailPoint's AEO strategy, roadmap, and quarterly priorities, and align them to pipeline and brand objectives.\r\nBuild and continuously refine the prompt sets we monitor across the major answer engines: including buyer-stage prompts, category and definitional prompts, product information, and competitive comparisons.\r\nTrack visibility, citation rate, sentiment, and share-of-model versus competitors. Turn the data into an opinionated point of view about where to invest next.\r\nDefine program KPIs and report results clearly to marketing leadership and other stakeholders.\r\nPartner with digital experience (UX) and paid media to connect SEO/AEO strategy to web campaign performance and pipeline influence.\r\nOwn international AEO and SEO, collaborating with digital and regional international stakeholders.\r\nRun the analytics and tooling stack.\r\nOperate our AEO monitoring platform (we currently use Profound) and our SEO platform (we currently use Conductor), and recommend additions or changes as the tooling landscape matures.\r\nConduct prompt-level, platform-level, and competitor-level analysis to understand why answers come back the way they do, and translate findings into specific actions.\r\nWorking with our analytics specialist, build dashboards and recurring reporting that make AEO performance legible to non-specialists.\r\nInfluence the content engine across functions.\r\nPartner with product marketing, content marketing, and communications to reshape what, how, and where we publish content, and how it is structured for LLM extraction and citation.\r\nDrive technical AEO and SEO improvements with the web team: schema markup, structured data, robots and crawler directives, log file analysis, internal linking architecture, passage-level optimization, and Core Web Vitals.\r\nIdentify content gaps where competitors are recommended over SailPoint, and lead the cross-functional response to close them.\r\nDrive off-property influence on the sources LLMs trust.\r\nIdentify the third-party sources LLMs lean on most heavily when answering questions about our category.\r\nPartner with analyst relations, communications, customer marketing, and product marketing to make sure our presence on those surfaces is current, accurate, and well-positioned.\r\nBuild a systematic program for placement, citation, and entity strengthening on the third-party surfaces that matter.\r\nUse AI to move fast.\r\nOperate as a power user of LLMs and AI tools to compress content audits, briefs, structured-data work, competitor analysis, and reporting that would otherwise take days.\r\nBuild internal AI workflows and lightweight automations — custom GPTs, prompt libraries, agent chains, scripts — that let a single-headcount function punch above its weight.\r\nOwn residual SEO.\r\nContinue managing organic search strategy and execution as the supporting program — keyword strategy, on-page optimization, technical SEO, and reporting — with an eye toward where SEO and AEO investments compound.\r\nWhat You'll Bring5+ years of experience in SEO, digital marketing, or content strategy, preferably in a B2B SaaS environment, with a demonstrated transition into AEO/GEO work.\r\nHands-on experience with at least one AEO/GEO monitoring platform. Direct Profound experience is a plus, not a requirement.\r\nHands-on experience with an enterprise SEO platform.\r\nStrong technical SEO foundations: schema and structured data, log file analysis, crawler directives, internal linking, page experience signals.\r\nWorking understanding of how LLMs select, retrieve, and cite content, and how citation behavior differs across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, and Gemini.\r\nReal AI fluency. You don't just use ChatGPT or Claude. You build prompts and design workflows that compound your own output. You are comfortable being the most AI-native person in most rooms.\r\nStrong analytical instincts. Comfortable in GA4, Search Console, and the analytics inside your monitoring tools.\r\nAbility to influence senior cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority, particularly across product marketing, communications, content, and analyst relations.\r\nExcellent written communication. You can write briefs other teams want to act on, and you can communicate program performance clearly to executives.\r\nA bias toward action. This is a build-from-here role, not a maintain role.\r\nBonus PointsExperience marketing in identity security, IAM, IGA, cybersecurity, or similar B2B category.\r\nExperience contributing to digital PR or earned media programs, and working with analyst relations teams.\r\nDirect familiarity with Profound and/or Conductor.\r\nA portfolio of \"GEO wins\" — concrete, documented examples of moving the needle on brand visibility, citation, or sentiment inside answer engines.\r\nWhy This Role at SailPointThis is one of the few seats in B2B SaaS marketing where the playbook is being written right now, and SailPoint is one of the few places where it can be written at scale. We are the category leader in identity security, recently back in the public markets, and actively defining what comes next: adaptive identity, agent identity, and identity-first security for AI. The narrative buyers are forming about our category in AI engines right now will shape this market for years. You will own that surface.\r\nYou will not be retrofitting AEO onto a checklist someone else built. Modern tooling is already in place, executive sponsorship is real, and the VP of Digital Marketing is the owner of this initiative. You will define what good looks like for SailPoint, and arguably for our space.","company":"Sailpoint Technologies","rawCompany":"sailpoint technologies","city":"Austin","state":"TX","isRemote":false,"isActive":false,"createdAt":"2026-07-02T01:15:04.301Z","occupations":[{"code":"11-2021.00","title":"Marketing Managers","slug":"marketing-managers"},{"code":"13-1161.01","title":"Search Marketing Strategists","slug":"search-marketing-strategists"},{"code":"13-1161.00","title":"Market Research Analysts and Marketing Specialists","slug":"market-research-analysts-and-marketing-specialists"}],"industries":[{"code":"541613","title":"Marketing Consulting Services","slug":"marketing-consulting-services"},{"code":"519290","title":"Web Search Portals and All Other Information Services","slug":"web-search-portals-and-all-other-information-services"},{"code":"611710","title":"Educational Support Services","slug":"educational-support-services"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Answer Engine Optimization (AEO/GEO) Manager","description":"Answer Engine Optimization (AEO/GEO) ManagerFunction: Digital Marketing\r\nReports to: VP, Digital Marketing\r\nLocation: Austin, TX or Remote (United States)\r\nAbout SailPoint\r\nSailPoint is the leader in identity security for the modern enterprise.
