GDIT delivers cost-effective, next-generation IT solutions and services to federal civilian agencies, the Department of Defense, and the intelligence community, as they modernize their information systems.\n\nGDIT currently has a 76-person team providing systems development, operational maintenance and infrastructure support, and end-user application support to the Administrative Office of the US Courts. The GDIT team is currently seeking a cloud migration engineer who will be responsible for planning, executing, and validating the transition of the organization’s applications, data, and infrastructure from the Judiciary’s VM based data center to the Judiciary’s private clouds. The cloud migration engineer will work very closely with each application team to ensure the success of application migrations. Migrations will only be performed with pre-approved, FedRAMP authorized public clouds and not commercial public clouds.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities:\n\nThe candidate will be expected to provide the following technical support as outlined below:\n\nEnterprise application migration planning.\nApplication refactoring/development.\nApplication migration implementation.\nMaintain software code baseline.\nImplement planned enhancements.\nProvide required or mandated fixes.\nProvide flexibility in addressing system and workflow changes driven by policy, reporting, and technological changes.\nProvide efficient adaptation to changing electronic signature and document non-repudiation requirements.\nProvide data and Identity Management integration with AO Systems as required.\nUtilize Judiciary DevSecOps, configuration management, version control, and testing automation tools.\nDemonstrated ability to diagnose complex system failures and restore services under pressure.\nCommunicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and documenting processes and procedures clearly.\nCreate communications about system changes tailored to a variety of audiences including DCIO management, other Directorates, court unit management, and end users.\nCoordinate resolution of Security scan findings to adhere to defined and evolving standards.\nDevelop solutions in accordance with AO policies and procedures.\nProvide subject matter expertise recommendations in work execution for technical best practices and provide cost savings and process improvements to the government.\nUse the shared SDLC resources provided by the AO including but not limited to Jira.\nDocument status and report work hours on tasks daily.\nInteract with the end users on case-by-case scenarios.\n\nRequired Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies:\n\nFive (5) plus years of relevant cloud migration experience with major federal IT applications.\nExtensive experience and knowledge with AWS, Azure, Google, and Oracle cloud providers. Not all applications will be migrated to the same cloud provider.\nExperience and knowledge in principles and practices of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.\nFamiliar with open-source applications, e.g., LAMP.\nFamiliar with Ansible, Git, and Docker.\nFamiliar with Bash, YAML, Python, and PHP.\nFamiliar with Microsoft .Net applications.\nExperience working with MySQL database.\nExperience with Extract/Transform/Load (ETL).\nProficiency in business tools, such as, Word, Excel, Power-Point, Visio, SharePoint, Teams, etc.\nExcellent written and verbal skills.\nAbility to provide guidance to a small team and to integrate as part of a larger team.\nAbility to analyze complex data and present findings in a clear and easily understandable manner.\nAbility to present recommendations for consideration and influence as needed.\nDemonstrated experience working in a load-balanced environment\nUnderstanding of IT practices, service management, governance frameworks, and industry standards (i.e., ITIL, ITSM, COBIT, ISO).\nWorking knowledge of IT tracking tools, preferably ServiceNow and Jira.\n\nCertifications: The candidate must possess at least TWO of the following current certifications:\n\nAWS SA Professional\nAzure SA Expert\nOCI Architect Professional\nGoogle Professional Cloud Architect\n\nEducation and Experience Requirements:\n\nMA/MS with 10+ years of directly related IT experience (or BA/BS with 13+ years of directly related IT experience).\n\nWork Requirements\nYears of Experience\n\n10 + years of related experience\n\n* may vary based on technical training, certification(s), or degree\n\nCertification\n\nTravel Required\n\nNone\n\nSalary and Benefit Information\n\nThe likely salary range for this position is $195,240 - $264,148.
