and analyze the operational and financial performance of its assigned function(s), as well as provide recommendations to the management team to enhance overall performance.\nThe Functional Controller will collaborate with local internal functions to ensure transparency and accuracy of information, develop/enhance management reports, monitor/control achievement of financial goals, support decision-making, implement key projects/initiatives, and foster financial awareness,\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nResponsible for reporting, analyzing, and explaining operational and financial information (e.g. volume, revenue, costs, expenses, investments) for assigned function(s).\nDesign and implement methodologies and management reports to enhance operational and financial performance visibility and accuracy.\nAct as a business partner for assigned function(s), supporting informed and data-driven decision making, identifying/defining needs and strategies to enhance financial performance, and supporting target setting for overall planning processes.\nResponsible for providing functional inputs for overall financial planning (e.g. budget, forecast, strategic plan, etc.) and for supporting assigned function(s) in the development of functional budgets.\nDevelop and monitor cost control/optimization measures for assigned function(s).\nCoordinate information/action needs regarding its assigned function(s) with other departments in Finance.\nPromote financial awareness within the assigned function(s), including coaching and training of colleagues.\nAct as gatekeeper for its assigned function(s) business’ major spend categories, including the review and approval/rejection of purchases in alignment with the company’s approval matrix.\nConduct business case analyses on investment proposals and make recommendations to Finance leadership.\nParticipate in cross-functional teams through providing a financial perspective.\nParticipate/lead ad-hoc financial projects/initiatives.\nProvide support to other Finance teams and assigned function(s) in audit-related topics.\nCollaborate with assigned function(s) and with the IT department to ensure data integrity.\nImplement and further develop operational processes and internal controls for the function(s) in scope, including the development/update of standard operating procedures (SOPs).\nEnsure compliance of processes and procedures related to its scope of work.\nSupport overall digitalization and automation of processes/reports related to its scope of work.\nEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, accounting, business or related field required\nMaster’s degree in engineering, finance, business or related field is a plus\n7+ years of related work experience\n3+ years of work experience in Logistics is a plus\nIn-depth knowledge of accounting and financial principles is required\nStrong Excel skills are required\nProficiency with SAP is a plus\nProficiency with PowerBI is a plus\nProficiency with SQL/Python is a plus\nREQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:\nDemonstrated effectiveness at reading, understanding, and impacting financial and operational information.\nDemonstrated experience in building financial and operational models and reporting structures from the ground up.\nDemonstrated strong business acumen and data-driven decision making.\nAbility to engage stakeholders in identifying and resolving complex business problems in a timely manner.\nStrong interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to develop relationships across all levels in organization including regular communication with senior business leaders and Executive Committee members.\nDemonstrated effectiveness in “managing by influence” those of higher title and in different functional groups.\nStrong problem solving and organization skills.\nExcellent written and oral communication skills with attention to detail.\nStrong project management skills in development, coordination and management of project plans.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nPhysical demands are consistent with a professional office setting.\nRegular sitting at workstation for 25 – 75% of the work shift.\nMinimum Travel required
