Stay connected with us on Facebook and LinkedIn to stay informed about the latest industry insights and updates from our company.JOB DESCRIPTION And RESPONSIBILITIESThe Paralegal / Regulatory Compliance Analyst primarily works under the direction of RTG’s general counsel and will be tasked with assisting RTG’s general counsel with drafting and revising various types of contracts the firm or its affiliates enter into, managing the firm’s insurance and real estate licensure programs, and providing any other type of assistance to RTG as it relates to legal issues and risk. Additionally, the Paralegal / Regulatory Compliance Analyst works in RTG’s Regulatory Compliance Service Line and provides research and writing support in the areas of the “Stark Law,” “the Federal Anti-Kickback Statute,” “the Federal False Claims Act (Civil and Criminal),” the “Federal Civil Monetary Penalty Act,” the provisions of the Medicare carrier manual, Medicare and Medicaid statutes and regulations, and the equivalent state statutes and regulations as they relate to the healthcare real estate industry, as well as reviews and analyzes lease agreements, timeshare licenses, property management agreements, and other contracts related to the healthcare real estate industry. Additionally, the Paralegal/Compliance Analyst may, from time to time, work on engagements for RTG’s other service lines, as directed by management. The Paralegal / Regulatory Compliance Analyst will report directly to RTG’s general counsel and the service line leader of RTG’s Regulatory Compliance Service Line. Specific responsibilities include:Provide support as directed on RTG’s Regulatory Compliance Service Line engagements, which will include, but not be limited to, reviewing, analyzing, and revising healthcare real estate compliance policies, lease agreements, timeshare licenses, property management agreements, and other contracts related to the healthcare industry, lease abstracting, conducting fair market value and commercial reasonableness analyses as it relates to healthcare real estate, memo and report drafting, and document review and management.Assist with drafting, reviewing, and administering various types of contracts RTG regularly enters into in the course and scope of business.Review the real estate licensing laws of various states and assist the firm in ensuring compliance with those rules.Help manage RTG’s corporate insurance program by providing assistance on insurance audits, insurance renewals, COI procurement, etc.Help file RTG’s annual reports and other similar types of documents and filings.Help update the Employee Handbook on a regular basis and assist with policy administration.Research assigned healthcare regulatory issues as they relate to the healthcare real estate industry and draft memos regarding the same.Provide any other type of assistance to RTG as it relates to legal issues and risks.Perform other assigned work for the firm’s service lines or for the firm in general as directed by management.Perform other assigned work as directed by management.COMPETENCIESAbility to understand the changes that need to be made to RTG’s standard contract templates to correctly customize them for each transaction.Excellent contract drafting and writing skills.Excellent people and analytical skills.Excellent legal research and writing skills.Ability to work both independently and within a professional team environment.AdaptableStrong communicator.Detail oriented.Organized Problem solver.Multi-tasker.Self-starter.Able to accept constructive criticism.Proficient with Microsoft Office and advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.Proficient with LexisNexis legal research.Timely decision-maker.Education And ExperienceAn Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) Degree in Paralegal Studies or a Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies, English, History, or other writing and research-intensive majors is preferred.Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience working in a law firm or a corporate legal department focusing on transactional law.
