Job Coach/Employment Consultant

One Part-time position available (currently 20 hours per week but can be up to 29 hrs. working with your case load; also substitute as needed with other Coaches, hours may vary based on your caseload). May lead to Full-time. Must be available as per our customer's needs, typically during the week; generally day shift with occasional weekend, and holiday. Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services or Special Education preferred or a combination of experience working with person with disabilities and education. Paid mileage. $200.00 bonus after 90 days. $300.00 bonus once certified. Employer paid ACRE certification training. Reimbursement opportunities for paid CEU/CEC's.
Purpose of the position: PIC's Job Coach/Employment Consultants are professional employment specialists that work with employers and persons with disabilities to: assess skills, abilities and supports needed for successful employment; train participants on job-related activities; place in employment and train participants on the job; job coach as necessary for successful employment. Also consult with the employer as needed.
Primary Responsibilities : 1)Completes intake Interview with potential participants and reviews referral information to determine appropriate employment assessments and support plan. 2) Actively solicits employers for situational assessment opportunities to assess participants. 3) Conducts community assessments of participants to determine employment potential, skills and abilities, specific training needs and best job match. 5) Prepares participants for pre-employment interviews and assists them with any issues that may be a barrier to successful employment. 6) Works with ancillary programs as necessary; 7) Becomes informed and informs employers regarding peripheral issues such as tax credits, ADA, welfare regulations, Social Security and serves as a resource on these subjects. 8) Designs a job development plan, a training plan, and fading plan geared to the individual needs of each participant for which he/she is responsible and implements the plans. 9) Provides one-on-one on-the-job training for participants. 10) Provides related training as needed such as: using the bus, appropriate work related behavior on job and at break/lunch time, interaction/communication skills and proper attire/grooming for the job. 11) Monitors the progress of each participant and maintains daily records in a timely manner. 12) Writes daily case notes and a monthly report on the progress of each participant to inform funding source liaisons of progress and to furnish information to plan the next month's services. 13) May occasionally assist in performing participant's duties when dysfunction occurs during the training period and is related to the person's disability. 14) Interacts with and coordinates ancillary services as required. 15) Attends regular staff meetings and funding agency panels to discuss SEP participants and activities.
