Whether your passion lies in working with young children navigating language development or with adults overcoming neurogenic communication challenges, this position offers a perfect blend of professional fulfillment and flexibility.ResponsibilitiesConduct thorough evaluations for patients ranging from children to seniors, utilizing standardized assessments and observational techniques to gauge their needs.Create tailored treatment plans that encompass both immediate objectives and long-term communication and swallowing goals.Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions that emphasize communication, language skills, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.Engage in collaborative teamwork with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to ensure comprehensive care strategies.Provide education for patients and their families to reinforce and support progress outside of therapeutic settings.Occasionally participate in inpatient evaluations and interventions to maintain a continuous care pathway throughout the therapeutic journey.Keep detailed and accurate documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies.Commit to ongoing professional growth by staying updated with innovations in the field through continuing education and peer networking.QualificationsA Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if unacknowledged by ASHA certification. CertificationsState licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of starting the position. SkillsDemonstrated proficiency in evidence-based treatment approaches for a diverse age range and a sound understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders both developmental and acquired.Exceptional communication skills with patients, their families, and interdisciplinary teams.Ability to modify therapy techniques to accommodate the diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds of patients.Strong clinical judgment complemented by effective problem-solving skills.Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation best practices.
