This role assists with design, GIS/AutoCAD work, cost estimates, field data collection, and project documentation to support the delivery of civil engineering projects.\n\nRecruitment information:\nThe first round of applications will be reviewed on Monday, June 8th, 2026\nDefault schedule will be the following: 5/8s or 9/80s\nNote: This position will be fully onsite for the first six months, after which eligibility for a hybrid work schedule may be considered.\n\nWhat will you do in this position?\nProvide technical support to Public Works engineering programs, including transportation planning, the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), and construction projects; performs assigned duties within the scope of authority, training, and area of responsibility, with duties varying by assignment.\nAssist engineering staff in preparing designs, graphics, specifications, cost estimates, and technical documentation for Public Works projects.\nConduct research, analysis, and reviews of plans, reports, specifications, proposals, and estimates to support project development and ensure quality standards are met.\nSupport planning, design, coordination, and inspection of CIP, transportation, utility, and other civil engineering projects; exchanges technical information with regional agencies, businesses, and external partners.\nAssist in developing technical drawings, maps, and GIS data using established GIS and AutoCAD systems; collects, verifies, and performs quality control on spatial data.\nParticipate in field data collection activities, including traffic studies and site inspections, to verify conditions and ensure compliance with City standards.\nSpecific projects:\nCitizen Action Request Investigations (CARS)\nIntelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)\nTraffic Signal System Operations\nTraffic Data Collection\nStreetlight Management Program\nPavement Marking Striping, Signing and Channelization\nAsset Replacement Management Program\nTraffic Calming Program\nSchool Flashing Beacon Program\nGuardrail Program\nParking Permits Program\nAssists with special projects as needed\n\nA successful candidate in this position will:\nLearn and adapt to new tools and systems with ease to support work efficiency.\nCommunicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally across a variety of settings.\nQuickly identify challenges and apply logical, evidence-based approaches to resolve them.\nStrengthen internal and external partnerships to enhance collective success.\nRemain open to diverse perspectives and embrace equitable approaches.\nSupport sustainability and long-term value in decision-making.\n\nAbout City of Bothell:\nThe City is comprised of 13.6 square miles within both King and Snohomish Counties and is home to 51,760 people (2025).
