Please do not contact our hiring managers.\n\nThe Helper will assist skilled tradespeople on heavy civil construction projects in industrial facilities. The ideal candidate is a proactive team player who understands earthwork safety, can work safely around large machinery, and takes pride in building solid foundations from the ground up.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities\n\nMust be able to take direction and follow instructions from upper levels.\nLoads, unloads, and transports construction materials, tools, and structural components across the job site.\nAssists in clearing debris, removing hazards on the job site.\nSupports skilled operators, multicraft, and pipefitters by positioning materials, holding levels, and handling tools.\nAssists in assembling temporary formwork, mixing concrete, and smoothing or leveling concrete surfaces.\nClean up discarded materials, wash down tools, and ensure the workspace meets regulatory safety protocols daily.\nSet up barricades, cones, and safety signs. Assist with basic traffic control and flagging when required.\nMust learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools and equipment. The Helper monitors and protects other personnel performing work in high-risk environments.\nStrictly adhere to safety protocols and PPE requirements.\n\nPhysical Qualification\n\nMust be able to push/pull, lift, or carry up to 50 lbs., but may occasionally push/pull, lift, or carry up to 100 lbs.\nSubject to repetitive use of hands/arms, and legs\nHand/eye coordination\nMust be able to communicate (hear, comprehend, and speak) to safely perform work\nWill need to be able to perform sedentary to heavy work\nMay operate hand and power tools (electric, gas, and pneumatic) of all types\nRequired to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis\nPosition may require prolonged bending/twisting, walking, crawling, kneeling, reaching overhead, squatting, pushing /pulling, or standing and lifting\nMust be able to walk on uneven surfaces, muddy conditions, loose rock, loose/soft sand, etc.\nMay be required to work in confined spaces\nWill be exposed to adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)\nMust have the ability to communicate effectively with management/ supervision\nReading and writing comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions to perform work and/or safety policy\nAbility to use math/complete calculations\nWork at various tempos, and concentrate amid distractions\nDecision making skills necessary\nDetail-oriented; must be able to remember, examine, and observe details\n\nWork Environment\n\nThe job will primarily be on or around construction/turnaround sites such as in petrochemical operational units and include possible hazardous environments such as confined spaces and working at heights. Exposure to loud noises, dust, dirt, irritants and smoke may occur. Special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be necessary to control some hazardous environments. Additional forms of PPE may be required depending on the particular project.
