Located at 3105 Belmont Blvd. in Nashville, we are a Pre-Kindergarten (4) through 8th Grade school with a distinguished history of academic excellence and a strong Catholic identity.Position OverviewChrist the King School seeks an experienced, dynamic, and student-focused Music and Choir Teacher to teach students in grades Pre-Kindergarten (4) through 8. The ideal candidate has a deep passion for music, strong knowledge of music curriculum and pedagogical techniques, and a student-centered approach that develops students' passion, love, and appreciation for music. They should have a proven ability to engage learners in meaningful music experiences through a variety of musical modalities. This teacher will inspire students to gain confidence in their abilities and see the beauty and relevance of music, aligning with our school's mission and academic standards through a genuine commitment to the spiritual and academic growth of every student.Primary ResponsibilitiesDevelop and deliver an engaging and innovative music curriculum aligned with state and diocesan standards for all gradesDevelop a programmatic arc that builds students' musical knowledge and skills, while instilling an appreciation for all musical styles, genres, and traditionsPlan, prepare, and execute daily lessons that develop student abilities and include a variety of techniques to engage students, with the goal of fostering a love of music in each studentCollaborate with Church staff to plan, prepare, and arrange music for weekly school MassFoster a classroom environment that supports student confidence, curiosity, collaboration, and respectDifferentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students, including those requiring enrichment and additional supportAssess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, and communicate effectively with students and parents regarding academic growthCollaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning, coordinate curriculum alignment, and participate in school-wide initiativesContribute a joyful and positive presence to the communityParticipate actively in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school eventsIntegrate faith and Catholic values into the curriculum in meaningful and authentic waysQualificationsRequired:Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a school settingBachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field (Master's degree or advanced degree preferred)Demonstrated strong classroom management skills and ability to create an orderly, engaging learning environmentExcellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skillsProven classroom management skillsAdherence to professional standards and expectationsExperience with differentiated instruction and meeting diverse learner needsCommitment to the mission of Catholic education and willingness to support the spiritual formation of studentsFamiliarity with best practices in music instruction and 21st-century learning approachesPreferred:Master's degree or higher in Education, Music, or a music-related fieldExperience in Catholic or private school settingsExperience building a music program for a wide range of student ages, abilities, and preferencesAbility to accompany students on piano or other appropriate instrumentPay range and compensation packageA welcoming, mission-driven school community.
