Our engineers are willing and expected to dive deep into developing solutions to the most challenging technical problems.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nThe Software Engineer is responsible for the research, design, and development of software in conjunction with hardware interfaces. This position is primarily responsible for the design and development of software products for a variety of software applications and participates throughout the software development life cycle.\n\nThe Software Engineer applies proficient knowledge of software engineering, computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles to the development of software for target applications. The position works closely with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and evaluate hardware/software interfaces, operational performance requirements, and overall system design.\n\nThe Software Engineer will be a self-starter who works well both in teams and independently. They will have strong communication skills and robust attention to detail, organizational skills, and self-accountability. Additional responsibilities include (but not limited to):\n\nPerform research, design, and development of computer software systems in conjunction with hardware product development.\nParticipate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including: Requirements analysis, Software design, Implementation, Integration and Software testing\nApply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for target applications, including scenario execution, coordinate transformations, state propagation, and data capture and storage.\nAnalyze software requirements and translate requirements into appropriate software designs and implementations.\nDevelop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, including radio-frequency (RF) hardware control and simulation-time synchronization.\nEvaluate operational performance requirements in support of overall system design.\nSupport the design and development of integrated hardware and software systems, including service startup and shutdown, health monitoring, configuration, and licensing controls.\nDevelop software test procedures and document test results against software requirements.\nDevelop, implement, and maintain software programs.\nDevelop and maintain software-related technical documentation.\nSupport software integration and testing activities.\nIdentify and resolve software-related technical issues throughout the development lifecycle.\nContribute to determining, estimating, and validating the cost and scope of software development efforts.\nSupport software development activities to ensure work is performed within established program cost, schedule, and technical constraints.\nCoordinate software engineering activities with hardware, systems, test, and other engineering disciplines.\nContribute to browser-based operator interfaces for scenario configuration, 3D visualization, live target-data streams, and system status.\nImplement and test assigned integrations with radar and communication models and external application programming interfaces (APIs), including message handling, network interfaces, and data conversion.\nSupport automated builds and tests, use software-analysis tools, and help resolve software vulnerabilities and server-configuration findings.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nMust be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain an Active DoD Secret Clearance.\nExperience working with government customers including the USAF and USSF\nBachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience; Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience; or two years of post-secondary education/Associate Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.\nHands-on experience developing and integrating software, performing verification and testing, and troubleshooting hardware/software interfaces.\n\nDesired Qualifications\n\nExperience with embedded, real-time, or mission-oriented software applications.\nExperience with software requirements development and analysis.\nExperience developing software test procedures and technical documentation.\nExperience working within multidisciplinary or cross-functional engineering teams.\nExperience estimating software development scope and level of effort.\nExperience developing software within defined technical, cost, and schedule constraints.\nExperience with simulation or hardware-in-the-loop systems, external model integration, or timing-sensitive hardware control.\nExperience with browser-based operator interfaces, 3D visualization, or streaming data.\nExperience with automated builds and tests, software-analysis tools, or resolution of software-security findings.\nExperience integrating or evaluating MATLAB-based models or implementing numerical coordinate and state-propagation calculations.\nCurrent DoD Secret clearance\n\nQualis, LLC has a comprehensive benefits package based on employment type, location, and applicable agreements that includes:\n\nHealth, dental, and vision insurance\n401(k) match\nPaid time off and Holidays\nEducational, professional development and certification reimbursement.\nTax-saving options\nDisability and Life Insurance\n\nQualis, LLC is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse and talented workforce who can contribute to the mission and vision of the Company.
