This Controller will partner with the VP Accounting to help drive the close process, balance sheet reconcilaitions, intercompany transactions, and manage a small team. Their ideal candidate must have experience at the Director or Controller level and have experience improving processes. **This position would be paid hourly on W2, and you would be a Conexus employee. It is an interim-to-hire position with the goal that the client eventually brings a candidate on direct-hire. **Perks:Flexible Hybrid Schedule (1x a week)Casual Work Environment Responsibilities:Lead and execute full month-end close for a logistics division, ensuring accurate and timely financial reportingOversee and develop a small accounting team, including performance management and day-to-day guidanceServe as internal expert for ERP system, maintaining data integrity and driving system optimization for logistics accountingPerform detailed profitability analysis to identify trends and deliver insights to senior leadershipAnalyze and reconcile large, complex data sets tied to high-volume customer transactionsOversee accounting for brokerage and transportation operations, ensuring accurate revenue recognitionPartner cross-functionally to support accounting across multiple legal entities, including required filingsMaintain hands-on involvement with general ledger, including complex reconciliations and journal entriesDevelop advanced financial models and reporting tools to support operational decision-makingSupport integration of newly acquired business units, standardizing accounting practices and processesMonitor key operational metrics and financial drivers impacting divisional performanceEnsure smooth transition of responsibilities and continuity of institutional knowledgeCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate capture of revenue and operational costsRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related degree3+ years in a Accounting Director/Controller level positionCPA license is highly desired.Public Accounting experience is highly desired.
