Controls Engineer / PLC Engineer | Danbury, CT | On-site | $100,000 – $135,000📍 Location: Danbury, CT, USA 🏢 On-site: 5 days per week 💰 Salary: $100,000 – $135,000 + Quarterly Bonus 🩺 Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k) + Match, PTOThe RoleJoin a long-established, engineering-led manufacturing organisation delivering custom automation and control system solutions.This is a hands-on Controls Engineering role focused on the design, development, testing, and commissioning of control systems for bespoke industrial automation projects.You’ll work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality, reliable control systems that meet complex customer requirements.What You’ll Be DoingSupport the design and development of PLC and loop controller systems based on project requirements Work with PLC platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider/Modicon or similar) to develop and troubleshoot control logic Develop and maintain HMI applications for operator interaction Assist with SCADA system integration (Ignition, Citect, IFIX or similar) Document control system designs and track revisions Participate in testing, commissioning, and system start-up activities Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, and project engineering teams Support system optimization and continuous improvement initiatives Occasional travel (approx. 10%) for site visits and meetings What We’re Looking ForEssential:Experience working with PLCs or industrial control systems in a hands-on engineering environment Familiarity with ladder logic (LL), function block diagrams (FBD), or similar programming methods Understanding of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet/IP) Experience with HMI systems or operator interfaces Ability to work within cross-functional engineering teams Strong documentation and communication skills Desirable:Exposure to SCADA systems (Ignition, Citect, IFIX or similar) Experience in industrial automation, manufacturing, or process control environments Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or related degree (Associate or Bachelor’s) 👉 Interested?
