This position is critical to ensuring maximum equipment efficiency, compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and long-term sustainability of maintenance processes. The ideal candidate brings a blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and a continuous improvement mindset.\nKey Responsibility:\nTeam Leadership - Lead and manage the maintenance department, ensuring all equipment and facilities are maintained in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.\nPreventative Maintenance - Develop, implement, and continuously refine a predictive and preventative maintenance strategy to maximize uptime and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).\nBudget/KPI Management - Manage departmental budgets, review maintenance expenditures, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment with operational goals.\nTPM Implementation - Design, implement, and sustain a Total Predictive Maintenance (TPM) program, including development of supporting systems and critical spare parts control.\nCMMS Expertise - Serve as the subject matter expert for the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), driving work order efficiency, inventory management, and analytics.\nRoot Cause Analysis - Lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA), failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and increase reliability.\nSafety Compliance - Ensure full compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements, including Lockout/Tagout procedures, machine guarding, and environmental standards.\nPSM Development/Alignment - Ensure maintenance programs and practices are aligned with Process Safety Management (PSM) principles; participate in PSM audits and support implementation of corrective actions to mitigate operational risk.\nStaff Development - Recruit, train, coach, and develop a high-performing maintenance team while promoting a culture of accountability, growth, and collaboration.\nCross Functional Collaboration - Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Training, Engineering, and Operations to align training programs, improvement initiatives, and performance management.\nContinuous Improvement - Lead or participate in Kaizen, Rapid Improvement, and PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycles to drive plant-wide process improvements and best practice sharing.\nVendor Management - Coordinate external contractors and vendors, including negotiating and managing service contracts and capital equipment projects.\nPerformance Reporting - Track and document maintenance activities, repair histories, and reliability metrics, and report progress regularly to senior plant leadership.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree required\nEngineering technology diploma, skilled trades license, or equivalent supervisory/management experience considered\nMinimum 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment\nAt least 5 years of leadership experience, preferably in batch or discrete manufacturing\nStrong leadership, interpersonal, and team-building skills\nEffective verbal and written communication\nProficient with Microsoft Office; familiarity with SAP, eMaintenance, and AutoCAD a plus\nProven analytical, problem-solving, and technical capabilities\nBasic project management skills\nKnowledge of lean manufacturing, TPM, reliability-centered maintenance, or similar methodologies\nPLZ Corp offers a robust suite of benefits including:\nMedical, Dental & Vision benefits.\nCompany paid Life and Short-Term disability.\nVoluntary benefits including additional life, disability, and hospital/accident insurance.\n401k & company provided match.\nPaid Time Off\nBonus incentive programs (Note, bonuses are subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.)\nAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status or other protected status.
