In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for the reliability, performance, and security of our databases while also developing and managing robust ETL pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and operational workflows.\r\nThis is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys both database engineering and hands-on data integration work.\r\nResponsibilities:\r\nAdminister, monitor, and optimize SQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle).\r\nHandle database installation, configuration, upgrades, migration, and maintenance.\r\nImplement and maintain database backup, recovery, and failover strategies.\r\nEnsure database performance tuning, indexing strategy, and query optimization.\r\nManage user accounts, roles, permissions, and data access security.\r\nEnsure database compliance with internal and external security standards.\r\nTroubleshoot database issues, performance bottlenecks, and service outages.\r\nDesign, build, and maintain ETL pipelines using tools such as SSIS, Informatica, Talend, Airflow, or custom Python/SQL.\r\nDevelop data models, data flows, integration mappings, and workflow schedules.\r\nCollaborate with analytics, engineering, and business teams to understand data requirements.\r\nEnsure high-quality data ingestion, cleansing, transformation, and validation processes.\r\nSupport data warehousing initiatives and optimize data pipelines for performance and scalability.\r\nMonitor ETL jobs, resolve failures, and ensure timely data delivery.\r\nStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.\r\nExcellent communication and documentation skills.\r\nAbility to work effectively across technical and business teams.\r\nDetail-oriented with a focus on data quality and operational excellence.\r\nRequirements:\r\nRequired Qualifications:\r\nAll candidates must pass public trust clearance through the U.S. Federal Government. This requires candidates to either be U.S. citizens or pass clearance through the Foreign National Government System which will require that candidates have lived within the United States for at least 3 out of the previous 5 years, have a valid and non-expired passport from their country of birth and appropriate VISA/work permit documentation.\r\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).\r\n5+ years of experience in DBA / ETL development\r\nStrong SQL expertise including query tuning and stored procedure development.\r\nHands-on experience with at least one major relational database system.\r\nExperience designing and maintaining ETL pipelines in enterprise environments.\r\nKnowledge of data warehousing concepts (star schema, slowly changing dimensions, fact tables).\r\nExperience with automation using shell scripts, PowerShell, Python, or similar tools.\r\nDesired Qualifications:\r\nFamiliarity with cloud data platforms (Azure SQL, AWS RDS/Redshift, GCP BigQuery)\r\nWorking Environment: eSimplicity supports a hybrid work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by manager.\r\nOccasional travel for training and project meetings.
