After-School Math Program Facilitator (Part-Time)

Job DescriptionApple Pi Education is hiring part-time After-School Math Program Facilitators to lead the Math Your Mind enrichment program. This role is ideal for experienced educators who enjoy hands-on, interactive math instruction and working with elementary and middle school students. This role is also ideal for budding educators who are currently enrolled in programs that intend to prepare you to be a classroom teacher or mathematics educator (Undergraduate Education Degree, Post-Baccalaureate (Post-Bac) Programs, Residency Programs, Intern Programs (University or District-based), Online Alternative Certification, Work Experience Credential, Grow Your Own (GYO) Programs, Emergency / Provisional Certification, Teach for America / Teaching Fellows), etc...) Facilitators will lead engaging math workshops that build confidence, curiosity, and problem-solving skills in a supportive after-school environment.Key ResponsibilitiesFacilitate engaging, hands-on mathematics workshops for students in grades 4-7Introduce and explain mathematical concepts such as patterns, logic, and strategic thinking in an age-appropriate wayLead interactive activities including card games, dice games, and math-based challengesSupport two cohorts of approximately 15 students.Foster an inclusive, positive learning environment that encourages participation and collaborationPrepare materials and manage smooth transitions between activitiesMonitor student engagement and provide individualized support as neededCollect feedback and participation data for program evaluationAttend required facilitator training (paid)Allow time for travel, setup, and breakdown Program DetailsProgram Type: After-School Instructional ProgramDelivery: In-PersonTotal Students: 30Program Length: 15 weeksMaterials Provided: Yes Compensation$40-$60 per hourPaid trainingMileage reimbursementCompensation includes time for travel, setup, and breakdown Job Type & SchedulePart-time, ContractAfter-school hoursIn-person RequirementsEducation:High School diploma or equivalent.Preferred: Current enrollment in a teacher credentialing, certification, or education degree program.Preferred: Bachelor's degree in education, mathematics, or a related field. Experience:Proven experience (1+ year) supporting or instructing K-8 students in a relevant educational environment, in a before, during or after school setting. (tutoring, camps, mentoring, coaching, etc.) Skills & Requirements:Strong foundational math knowledgeExcellent facilitation and classroom management skillsAbility to adapt instruction for diverse learnersEnthusiasm for helping students build a positive math identityReliable transportation to and from school sites
