We would prefer to hire somebody who has had exposure to machining work, but somebody who is good working with their hands and wants to learn a trade would be fine. The ideal person would come in to run bandsaws, setup tools, sandblast parts, washing parts, material handling, deburring parts, tapping parts and general labor as needed.\nWe currently have 8 CNC mills (Haas's), 2 CNC lathes (Mazak/Other) and a few manual machines. This could be a good entry level for somebody looking to get skill as a machinist down the road. There is room for moving into a variety of skillsets in the manufacturing industry.\nIdeally you would be able to work well with our current team.\nJOB RESPONSIBILITIES\nMachining:\n- Cutting machine blanks with horizontal and vertical bandsaws\n- Sandblasting parts\n- Deburring parts\n- Machine tool setup\n- Washing parts\n- Tapping parts\n- General basic labor\nThe pay would be comparable to the experience of the person applying. Looking for somebody who has a good attitude, good with people and wants to come in to learn the way we machine parts. The ideal candidates would be people who like to work with their hands, like to think about how things go together and wants to contribute to help us grow. We would teach the ins and outs of how THIS machine shop works and communicates, but minimal teaching is ideal. We are a growing engineering firm, so education in engineering disciplines (mechanical engineering, software engineering, etc.) would be a plus. We are an 20 person company that is trying to grow and it is time for the owners to take hands off the day to day management of the machining team so we can focus on larger tasks.\nIt is important that this individual be open minded as to how we do things here. We came from college educations and have learned the machining trade through that route. We did not have an internship at machine shops. However, the way we have learned to work and what we know works for our company. All of our customers are very happy with our work.
