Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients and assist nursing staff in delivering high-quality care. Your responsibilities will include monitoring patient health, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all patients. The ideal candidate will have experience in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, and assisted living environments.
Responsibilities
Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
Monitor vital signs and report any changes in patient conditions to nursing staff.
Provide support for patients with developmental disabilities, dementia, or Alzheimer’s care.
Maintain accurate medical documentation and assist with EMR/EHR systems.
Administer medications as directed by nursing staff and ensure proper medication management.
Assist with mobility needs using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and wheelchairs.
Support nursing staff in critical care settings, including ICU and emergency medicine environments.
Engage in patient service activities to enhance the overall patient experience.
Uphold HIPAA regulations while managing patient records and confidentiality.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant or in a similar caregiving role is preferred.
Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology knowledge is advantageous.
Experience working in various healthcare settings such as hospitals (Level I/II trauma centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care environments is highly desirable.
Skills in phlebotomy, catheter care, vital sign monitoring, and medication administration are beneficial.
Knowledge of EMR systems (eClinicalWorks, Cerner) is a plus.
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team are essential.
