The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states.\r\nFleet Orchestration and Optimization is responsible for systems that aggregate information about fleet resources in order to automatically coordinate behaviors, which efficiently deliver safe and capable vehicle supply to Waymo's business use cases.\r\nYou will: Help build and evolve one or more mission-critical tools and systems.\r\nCollaborate with Product, UX, and other engineering teams to develop systems and processes as business needs grow and evolve.\r\nSolve hard, real-world problems such as fleet optimization, field escalation handling, workshop management, efficient mileage gathering, and more.\r\nYou have: BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.\r\n5+ years of backend or infrastructure experience.\r\nExperience with backend coding languages: C++, Python, and Java.\r\nWe prefer: Experience with C++ (or a willingness to learn)\r\nPassion for working in cross functional environments that include nontechnical stakeholders\r\nFamiliarity with Google infrastructure (e.g. Flume, Borg, Protocol Buffers, OnePlatform)\r\nExperience with operations tooling, developer productivity, or developer tools\r\nExperience with optimization / OR scheduler\r\nExperience with Geo (pathfinder, mapfacts, walking directions)\r\n((Remote jobs only - Please note that Waymo may not be able to employ remotely in all locations.
